Nice buy. Enjoy it.

I've always fancied trying an EVO sometime, love the style and the sound, not driven one enough yet to know if I like the drive.

Looks really well and nothing goes better than a well sorted Evo. I loved my 9 but my Tommi Mak was ten times more fun on the back roads.
The only thing that would annoy the bag off me is the engine or possibly just the rocker cover from an Evo 5 or 6 and the Evo 8 rear spoiler

I'm a big fan of how those wheels look but they weigh a ton and f*** up the handling big time. I went the same route from standard wheels to Rota's but they only stayed on for a few months before I picked up a set of Advan RS from the MLR. I never weighed the standard wheels but the Advan's saved around 2kg per corner over the Rota's, or almost 20% in unsprung and rotating mass to put it another way.

The only thing that would annoy the bag off me is the engine or possibly just the rocker cover from an Evo 5 or 6 and the Evo 8 rear spoiler

I spotted the rocker cover as well but looking at the rest of the engine bay with all the braided hoses, fancy manifold, uprated rad etc I'm wondering if a previous owner has swapped the lump with a fully forged one and was running big bhp previously. I would hope this is the case as the standard E7 rods can become a bit snappy at 390bhp...

It may sound sad but these are two of my dream cars, I'm not interested in Ferrarris/Porsches etc.. just glad to say I have them both sitting now.

Like me then. I could not name any of the usual cars that people on here often get a hardon for. I'm not sure if I just don't have a interest, or I've shut off any interest as it will never happen.
If I won the lottery I honestly wouldn be straight up Boucher road, I'd be off to Japan to hand pick a few beauties.

If I won the lotto I'd keep what I have and add a well sorted Evo 9, an R34 GTR, an R32 GTR, an S15, a MK2 Escort, an M3 of some sort and the mother of all cars the Hakosuka.

I'd also maybe buy a RR Sport or something as a daily just for the comfort.

Similar, but still something completely hanging together to still use as a daily lol.
A daily isn't a daily unless you don't mind kicking the door shut when you have both hands full.

Don't do what I did and sell all your toys to settle down. Put them in a bubble when the time comes and forget you own them. I sold a twin cam a 180sx with rb in it. A dc2 prelude and all to buy a house and get married. I sold my sole but can't reverse it now lol.

Impressed collection now chief. Looks like a real nice one. 8 spoiler helps massively.

With you on that, ok, so I'd love a 997 GT3 RS 4.0 but next on my wanted list is things like an FD3S, MK2 Escort, etc.

Well since I've bought this I've just had it parked up in the garage as it was coming to the end of summer anyway and I decided to put it away for the winter. I'm planning on having it out come Easter time so I have gathered up service parts, oil, filter, plugs etc. I also am in the process of sorting out a groupbuy from BC Racing on coilovers so hoping to have a set purchased for this in the next month or two. I've been speaking to Jonny at AI Autosport and I'm going to leave it up to him in March time for a good health check, service, fitting the coilovers and having it ready for MOT all being well.

Here is a photo of it tucked away in the garage, almost like an ornament along with my AE86. Also seen is my girlfriends Premier EP3.

Nice big garage with some nice cars in it. At least you have something to look forward to in a couple of months.

It's booked in with Jonny at AI Autosport for a full check over, service, MOT and coilovers to be fitted at the end of next month. After that I'll decide what I'm for doing with it. Just this week I saw an Evo IX for sale that I'm really interested in but if I go buy it I'll leave myself very tight for money until I sell this so not sure what to do.

I left the car off with Jonny at AI yesterday. He's changed the oil, oil filter, plugs, inner rack ends and rear bushings. Once he gets a chance he's going to take it a good drive for me and see if he can improve on the map at all as I want it sitting as safe as possible.

Hopefully collecting it beginning of next week then I'll be fitting some new brake pads all round and maybe get these coilovers finally bought and fitted if I can sell another car I have sitting here.

So I've been told so thought I'd leave it with him to check over. It's a right trek for me but I don't mind. I usually do most of my own work or my uncle sorts timing belts and more difficult stuff but I'd rather someone that knows them well had a good check over this first.

Nice to have someone on these shores that knows them inside out for setups, mapping and more complex maintenance. Everything else you could probably do yourself to save the journey every time.

Good to hear that from all of you. It's my first true performance car as such. I've had many EP3's, DC5's and some other motors such as an E36 M3, E46 M3 but I either didn't keep them long or I done the work myself. I explained to him I'd like a good check of it completed, complete service and map looked at. I'll fit the brakes and refurbish the calipers in the next couple of months and fit the coilovers once I buy them.
