Some more pics from the fabricator over the last few days. Having been sent home from work he has more time to do a bit more to the escort shell. The front end is now complete.
Cage being lifted today and will be fitted to the car after its goes on the spit to weld up the underneath.
Last will be to fit the wings, arches etc.

Looks a good solid shell to start with, will be following this. Sticking to the Vauxhall power unit ?

Yes, although its a Vauxhall engine the inside is fully steel and is 2.1 litre or there about so will be grand. I suppose its output is anywhere from 250 to 270 ish bhp although im not chasing power figures. The engine is going for a strip down and check over and also ill get it painted up & change the rocker covers.

I know its a mammoth task Barry but Im not going to short cut it and I have no time limit. My aim was to have it painted this year but with this virus thing hanging about it may have to wait a year.
Underneath will be finished by the weekend.

. Have always wanted mk2 escort or rs2000 but probably never get to own one the way prices are now and climbing.

Cage is now done. Dry build being done now to sort all holes for fittings etc. Then its going to get the arches fitted and sealed and left in primer.

Small update. Car is at the painters. Just getting the doors and wings, bonnet etc lined up before welding. Then the front spolier & arches will be going on before rubbing down and sealed. I was just going to have it left in primer but after thinking about it Im just going to go ahead and have all the painting finished.
Im hoping to see the car painted aover the next 3 weeks.

Love that colour, my dad's ex mechanic had one in orange (not sure if it's signal or a different shade)
