That is retro cool - but as much as i'd love a mk2, your want must have been immense to get rid of a P1 for a mk2

you didn't sell the P1 to a guy Ned, by any chance?

That looks a cracker, do you have a bucket list of cars you have to own? Or is it just impulse?

Your mate didn't take long blowing up the p1 :confounded:

I still need to get up to see you about plates ffs need new ones for impreza also

Yes Neds a good mate of mine from way back and thank goodness it was him that bought the P1 as it seized just after he bought it so at least he knew it was just bad luck and not something I knew about but ill have to help him out with some ££ towards the repair as it was real bad luck for him . DO you know him ?

That is awesome do you still have the rs turbo ?

Yea but havnt seen it for ages as its away at a mates getting a gearbox rebuild as it was slipping out of reverse . Cant wait to get it back tbh .

After selling the P1 for an escort. Well everyone knows now so you might aswell come out of the closet and join @Mark King @Paul RS @Ghost
Ford fanny boy. :p

Very nice mk2, need @Reno_LV to do a photoshoot of this and the RST together. (y)

Cheers

Yea im well and truly out of the closet now as a ford fanboi lol. I tried to hide behind a vw only front for too long lol. Oh and yes id absolutely love @Reno_LV to shoot this and the series1 once I get it home again.

@Cartunes that looks too modern for me now , nevermind in a 70s escort lol.

Cheers everyone for all the comments , can wait to get it motd and on the road before I miss whats left of the summer .

What a beauty.

Prefer them without the spots though. My cousin had a gold 1600 Sport back when I was a nipper, I loved going out in it.

Chap I know has just brought a few Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts in from South Africa, I think two of them are 1600 Sports. Don't look anywhere near as nice as yours though!

Yeah I know what you mean about the spots , I love them with or without tbh so if it didn't have them on I wouldn't have fitted them but the fact it came with the Cibies on it then I will def be leaving them on it . As for the African ones there seems to be a lot of them coming in now . Id have gladly had one if the right one came up before I seen this .

Let's arrange a shoot then! :grinning: :grinning:

Awesome , ill let you know as soon as I have the S1 back home then.

Very nice Neil. Though I would've been keeping the P1.

Escort Cosworth next??

tbh there is no contest for me , id take the mk2 over the P1 everytime . As for the escort cosworth I like them but have no real desire to own one for some reason , but a 3 door sierra cosworth would really float my boat but they have just went silly money so ive missed the boat on ever owning one now.

He showed me pics of it, and I thought it looked familiar.

Ned does our ROI collections for us (y)

It was indeed a gunk about the P1, but he was telling me of his plans for it now, and he has sent it to the right place

Glad you got one picked up in the end Neil - did it come from Cookstown direction?

I run the low profile tyres as I like the extra inch drop all round plus it looks well around the 7" wheels. (Ronals or Midland?). Also Cibies and sunstrip on a Mk2 for that rallysleg look :p

Hope to see you out and about in this at a future point (y)
