So my affiliation with Vauxhall continues and after being let down last weekend to buy a vx220, the wind was still up me to buy another project.

So looking about the classifieds and seen what looked to be a super clean mk3 astra 1.4 merit.

So onto the phone and offered him bad money and a deal was done.

The chap had a mate with a trailer and delivered it to me on Friday evening and for a 20 odd year old car it was in great condition.

Plans at the minute are to get a gsi kit and interior sorted and then to decide what engine to put in it.

Im wither thinking the red top c20xe or the saab B204

It was too clean to let go to be honest. Theres a bubble of rust there at the bottom of the sill at the rear arch on both sides but ill get it sorted when I do a re spray when the kit goes on.

Mk4’s are a rare enough sight these days let alone Mk3’s or even 2’s!! Especially in decent nick. I always had a soft spot for a Mk3 GSi

This will be unreal!! Seen it for sale and wish I had the spare dough! But my moneys all tied up in Mk4's at the minute... especially my B204 Project which is getting close to completition!

So been collecting a few things..

Mainly a genuine GSI with the log book, in bits though and the shell is in a mess but I got the full kit a full set of seats, dash was ok but no glove box, wiring loom seemed intact.

So early morning start and had to go to the lovely Donegal

I need a gsi bonnet but not sure if this one is going to be any good, would the rust rash blast off?


I was on facebook and seen someone splitting a sport and had a load of black bit so they should be arriving today

Still need to sort an engine out
