I bought this a couple of weeks ago. 07 3dr candy white mk5 golf. 63000 miles dsg box and tartan buckets also. I don’t know how high a spec it is but it has a sunroof and a 6 speed CD player under the arm rest. It has the sat nav aerial on the roof but came with no radio.
It was very lightly bumped at the front with no structural damage or damage to the radiators . The drivers window was broken probably to steel the radio.
The wee car is in good shape otherwise. I’ve bought a full new front bumper bonnet and wings. The wings were ok but had some very minor bubbling so I thought sod it better to change them now. I also bought two new front headlights because the old ones had gone a bit yellow.
Seeing as we are going to paint the whole front end and there was a small dent in the passenger door it seemed rude not to just repaint it and leave it mint.
I’m going to collect a set of original 18” Monza alloys for it tomorrow which are going to be diamond cut and left like new . I also bought a new headunit for it. It’s a double din map Bluetooth Jobbie. It will do grand

I will definitely have to look more into it as it would be a way into something nice for handy money

I follow loads of guys on FaceTube that do that, is it easy enough or any comments?

Are they all categorised then if they're on CoPart?

Not everything on copart is categorised. Some people just see it as a hassle free way to get rid of stuff.
What I will say is that if it isn't categorised then chances are there is something underlying wrong with it.
not always the case but you take a chance. My clio 172 wasn't categorised and had no problems other than it needed recommissioned after being off the road 11 odd years
I tend to stay away from the heavier hit stuff and prefer rear damage as the fronts where all the expensive bits are.
The newer a car the more you'll save so if you plan on buying something to keep for 3-4 years driving its a good way to go

Are you going Mk5 grey inserts, or Mk6 black? I think the latter would look better!

The rebuild continues.
The front panels now on so the new headlights to build and fit tomorrow morning as well as the front bumper, inner guards and door strips. I’m going to paint the callipers and brakes silver tomorrow as well.
I have the wheels booked in with MJE this week. Im going to do them back to original with anthracite backs .

Well today was very productive.
I went over to cookstown to MJE this morning to drop the alloys in for a refurb. I’ll lift them next Saturday as I’m away with work this week.
And the rest of the golf was put back together and complete. I got a set of metros, painted the callipers silver and give it a quick blast with a sponge .
