MK5 Golf radio/electrics/alarm problem

Posting for a mate....

Mk5 golf with a dodgy radio?
Car parked, turned off, radio switched off before the key is taken out, yet the radio mysteriously comes on at random times throughout the day and night.

the alarm sometimes would go off too?

Anyone experienced this or any ideas of why this might happen?

First thing to try is the old I.T. solution of turning it off and back on. i.e. disconnect the battery for 10 mins or so.
I had a problem with one of the control modules on my Caddy recently and that solved it, Can-Bus can get confused sometimes.

If that doesn't work, find someone with Vag-Com and get the car scanned, I have a genuine Vag-Com cable here but you'll likely find someone closer to you.

The radio's go faulty and do daft things like that, but there is a recall on some fo the RCD300 to adjust the software to stop this complaint! PM the chassis number and i can check for you, or phone up and ask your local VW dealer to check for outstanding recalls!

Maybe there are a problem on canbus, your radio is wince system or android system?
