Just incase anyone has had this before.

Noticed this on my MK7 gti.

Full lock to the right it makes a single clicking noise at the end of the rack.

Video attached

Anyone had this or is it normal? If it's normal no sweat , if not its under warranty and will need to sort it

Cheers

Edit , can't upload a video, not sure what format I need to upload

Not normal and could be anything from a spring, mount, bush, joint, shaft or rack.

My assumption would be to check the inner / outer tie rods first, wouldnt be hard to do. Do what you just did there but put your hand on the tie rods either side and you’ll feel it. It that doesn’t cure it then possibly a rack? Never known the mk7s to give bother but I’ve put one in a mk5

If it’s under warranty get it in. That’s not normal. Most common noises on the MK7 front suspension turning the steering when stationary are to do with the shock dust covers not sitting correctly in place. This does not sound like it at all.
