Are Adrian Flux and green light still the go to for insuring modified cars? Mine is due for renewal next month and I’m thinking of putting an exhaust on but my current insurer are saying they won’t cover it!

Admiral has been fine with me for modifications (nothing too crazy though, exhaust, wheels, intakes etc). LV similarly are grand with them too

Note: Greenlight don't like BMWs (or least used not to)

Flux were a nightmare for me recently so I went back to Advance Insurance who insured me previously for an import on one of their specialist policies

Greenlight don't like new cars either. Wouldn't insure my Golf R when I got it due to the value.

Admiral were spot on with my M3 mods (spoiler, spacers, etc) and didn't charge any extra when I added them.

Yeah they told me point blank wouldn't cover any BMW when I was looking a quote 4/5years ago. Too many steer from the rear smashes.

A-Plan Thatcham Schemes I always used for modified cars. My Evo was forged 400hp/400lb ft with coilovers, wheels etc etc. They were great about it and it was less than £800 fully comp.

The first quote request has went well £3,073 from Adrian Flux:rolleyes:

Flux quoted me near £4k on an EP3 Type R when I was around 33 with full NCB, 0 points and no accidents. Only mods were coilovers, full exhaust and an induction kit. The girl on the phone was really embarrassed by it, apologising and saying she didn't even want to give me the price!

Thanks for the steer on Admiral £530 with them which is cheaper than my renewal without the exhaust.
