Seems to be a few new e92 M3 threads started here recently so will keep this one brief and will be somewhere where I can update with any mods etc over thewhile as I’ll not be doing everything immediately as I did with my e46 M3...

6 years since I had my last E46 M3, silver grey/red leather, KW coilovers, Supersprint exhaust etc which I unfortunately had to sell due to circumstances ...but I knew I’d always get another M3 eventually.

Went to a GTTDI for a while then a 330ci clubsport to lastly their Mk5 R32 which I loved but just lacked the coupe feel and the extra horses.
Wanted another E46 but prices for another good one was over budget and for the price I thought I’d go for the E92.
Loving the more mod cons and nicer interior while also keeping the fun factor with that noise!
I still prefer my E46 but might just be nostalgia I don’t know...
love how it drives- steering is super and although seems sluggish at low revs a touch of the power button seems to help with making it feel more responsive starting off around town... no mistaking its definately faster than the E46 although not the same feeling of speed- the E46 really felt lighter and more responsive at low speeds.

The E92 I’ve went for is an LCI 2010 space grey DCT with most of the options ticked other than EDC. Full BMW SH which is nice and only 2 owners...only down side is a lack of receipts to go along with that so only getting dealers word that rod bearings have been sorted.

few things on my list to get sorted ...

Mechanically - at its next service I’ll take it to Banbridge Motor works and prob get the oil checked for rod bearing wear.

Mods - already got the 2 pipe OEM done at Ricks Garage but will maybe get this changed to 4 pipes in the near future although it’s definately a good upgrade over standard already!

It has 20” (I think AG) csl style wheels but I think I’ll go to the same style wheel but in 19”. (I have the original 19’s refurbed in satin black but up for sale as already put new tyres on the 20’s)
I’d be happy to straight swap my 20’s for 19’s if I find anyone wanting 20’s.

Either H&R springs or KW coilovers if I get 19’s.

I have CIC but think I want a combox for better iPhone integration although everything works ok with the Bluetooth as is.
...and anything else I fancy after reading things on here lol.

Havnt had a chance to take any proper photos yet but I will post some better ones up soon..

One problem which seems to be common is the inner rear light clusters have faded - look normal when damp or cleaning them but dry out all hazy - tried a few polishes but still poor- may need new clusters

Rear wheel sensor needs replacing ...3 dash lights on, for a scary moment thought it was the actuators,
Might just replace it myself if it ain’t too hard..

That is lovely, the dealers pics didn't do it any justice.

On a separate note, that dealer always has some nice stuff, but they always write "In BMW shade of grey" or "Audi shade of white" Like how hard can it be to find out and list the correct colour.

Cheers, yea - I still miss that M3!
@Snoopcousins i replaced one.... Then 2months later... another corner.... 2months later.... Another corner 😂

thanks -I also thought it wierd they didn’t list the desirable options it had or that it had a FBMWSH..

they also have a lovely RS4 and RS6
That really is perfection. They still look so good. The LCi makes it too.

Cheers-
the rear lights are a must, as is the newer CIC iDrive

Not a lot to update....

2nd wheel speed sensor went, front one this time, half price in GSF and fitted it myself - bit fiddly but pretty easy on the front ...

...have to say it’s a tad scary when 4 errors come up on the dash all at once! 😅

fitted a new black B-column cover as the other one had a nasty stone-chip,
Other than nice new OEM wipers I’ve bought a Vgate iCar adapter and BimmerCode /BimmerLink which cane in handy for the speed sensor already...

still havnt had it anywhere nice for scenic photo’s...

Not much else to update,
Got a sticky Rear caliper replaced under warranty and new brake pads...actually noticed a rise (albeit small) in MPG...

Got a quote from DW Autos in Ballyclare for the big service inc DCT oil etc AS WELL as changing the bearings ...£600 😳👍

Nearly seems too cheap ...and they’re probably one of the most recommended BM specialists

Ok, so DW is a no-go area for bearings work etc!
Going to shop around and do some more homework on bearings but I’m meantime I’ll get a big service done- sparks, DCT oil, diff oil etc and maybe wait for next years oil service to do bearings.

Few slightly better photos....

Only problem with waiting a year, it’ll always be in the back of your head when you’re driving it. Well I know that’s how I would think.

I know what you mean....
But I think this is a keeper for me, I’ve got a wee TDI Altea for commutes etc so probabky only going to be doing 3k a year in the M3....

Big service and general health check-up and then budget for doing the bearings in 12 months...

Might get Eibach pro kit in meantime...tho seen it mentioned you need E36 bump Stops and shaved top mounts with it?

Does anyone know where to get these?
Or is the KW sleeve kit better?

Soulless pos
Get an oil test done and it will tell you how urgent they are. I tested mine at every service and it was always fine over the 3 odd years I owned it and mine was an 07 albeit with 40k
