And started on the car today on a strip down removed boot carpet and plastics and all 4 wheel arches to find rust but on the hold I think it's fairly good for being a ford

Plans next is at the weekend is remove the seats and lift the carpet over to one side to see if there's any rust problems hiding

Also anyone know off any good welders who could short this for me in the Belfast ARDS Bangor kind of areas

Cheers jay

The mx5 looks bewildered having a friend lol or maybe it’s worried it’s next for the rust inspection lol. Not too bad at all for an older ford.

Mx5 has already had it's inspection so think it's more off the friend bit 😂😂

Also had no plans to remove anything else but just started on more off it lol rear lights removed with some home made gasket on passager side also alot of broken glass removed from inside the bootlid removed the front end and was shocked to see the headlights are all one peace and finally last thing removed was wing mirrors and outer door rubbers think I might need new ones 🤣

So been a few weeks from I was at the car I've bought and fitted front wish bones along with shocks and lowering springs bolt did break so had to take a trip to ford for new bolts and to get someone to drill it out but its sorted now

Now for the rear I've started on it today 3/10/20 and am not sure what to do got the rear hubs and shocks out to come across to drivers rear top mount to be very rusty and to not even exist anymore and the top mount off the body of car is not to good either trying to get 2 bolts out it's just falling apart

The whole appeared when I was trying to hammer a socket on to the bolt so question is do I add this to be welded with the other stuff or cut my losses now before I get to deep into it

Is that the strut tower still stuck to that shock you've pulled out? Or is that just the top mount?

Got a pic of the turret? If that's all there is it'd be easy enough sorted tbh.
The pic is off inside the turret from today and there's a pic on a previous post off the out side but now there's no shock there it's about soft and is just falling apart if that makes sense
Going to call into a few place on Monday after work for prices to see if it's worth spending the money on or not

Ah that's just the top mount then. Just have to replace them but won't be too expensive. I thought for a moment the whole turret had come off and that was it stuck to the top mount.

Flip just looked at it more carefully there and see what you mean..didn't notice the hole, thought that was just grease and dirt. Other side alright?
