I've been on the look out for a silly colour caddy for a few months but nae such luck

Then the price of caddys being all over the show I still don't understand the market so I just assume the year of the van no effect on price 🤔

Toyed with a few ideas because I wanted an imaculate van either buy sdi and convert to BLS or ARL any potential caddy was a 3 day camel hike away and most had door locks fitted lacquer peel etc

Then this came up about 200yards from my front door

16cr with a whopping 75hp
Pristine inside and out
Drives as new
Full mallusk vw history right up until feb20

Is what it is I think you'll agree

Then it was remove the bulkhead and shelves, if any of you have driven with a bulkhead you'll know exactly why it was removed,

Then we have my granda World class joiner in his day, and all round hero he done the wood work and made a new box for the wheel arch

I removed the bulkhead in my kangoo and the relief of being able to recline my seat was priceless. Your van looks great.

ahhh brilliant wee van! Had one for work for a long time with the 1.6, handy got to the ol injectors which they love to eat but the best way to stop them from going in the first place is to map the ***** clean outta it! Double power!

Looks a good starting point, I love a nicely done caddy  Pretty sure these map to 140/150ish as the 75bhp engine is the same as the 105bhp variant, just detuned. Bound to be worth the £200 or so!

Worth if for that CD alone! Reminds of a time that I bought brand new TV and DVD player from a (then - now defunct) well-known shop on the Hollywood Road. TV was factory fresh but when I opened the supposedly new DVD player and powered it up, out came a Top Gun DVD🤔. Cue rather interesting call to them!

See I was told my daily 75hp caddy will only map to around 90 max ,guess what I never bothered .😂
I swear it is the most dangerous thing known to man ,you need to make sure that traffic is at least 1/4 mile away before joining said motorway.
Oh they like to snap the wee bolt holding injectors in place ,like a 6mm bolt which lets them eject at 80mph heading for Dublin at 9pm on a Saturday night .Isnt that rite @quattro Rick

Great driving things
Do you work for fyffes the motor factors? Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else on here 🤔 i used to drive/do deliveries for the newry branch of fyffes. & used to rather enjoy scooting about the country in a caddy. As you say nice driving wee things, ive a transit connect myself & they dont drive half as good as a caddy. However i preferred the earlier 1.9tdi engines compared to the newer 1.6tdi. 1.9tdi with the hydraulic clutch compared to the newer 1.6 with a clutch cable, 1.9 a stronger engine but the newer shape ones do look well.

Ahh hard to beat getting out away from the shop/warehouse & just do abit of delivering. I had a handy run when i Worked there i used to do the branch transfers i used to drive from newry to drop at the dundalk branch then on to Drogheda drop there & back. Used to do that twice a day so took up most of my day then a wee bit of putting stuff away/on the shelves for an hr then my day was done was a handy number.
