Lol. Whats with the rears?
No idea sham 🤣 as I've said before this is a certified ***** box of a car 🤣

But kirki today.. took an un prepared car never even put a part worn on it just to see what was what and how a polo felt in this ropey state

Turns out it impressed me, and drove relatively well all things considering

Short shift to 4th mid way down the pit wall allowed me to leave it pinned though debtors, with an exit speed the thickness of the needle over 115mph

So means we can progress and give it some upgrades where needed 👍

Car has been getting slower and slower since I bought it and tbh and was quite dead and flat at kirki, i thought it was just getting used tonot, then noticed a blow out a week or so back assuming its was the down pipe due the cat bodged in to it

Turns outs blowing from between the turbo and manifold

Quite chuffed tbh hopefully it's back On form after an OE gasket and horsed tight

Pics and updates are all over the show, cos the new trend is to record a video instead of a pic 🤣

I'll try to make sense of what's happening

The lady and the tramp

20240211_154419.jpg

front brakes, as i want to retain the oem 16s and keep it looking like the mundane VW that it is

went for S3 312s

Slightly bigger

Rears went from sold to vented and up to the 256mm as mentioned from a r32 golf

Few screenshots from videos I apologise

Rears I decided to try a genertic aff the shelf road disc and pad, as I wana remove the bite as much as possible as I think the rear might be over braked, with only using a 312mm front

and the weight of the car and the little rotating mass i have in each rear wheel i think it might lock too easy and trigger the ABS prematurely

even tho the rear dosent do much breaking anyway infairsss, but the theory makes sense 🤣

the carriers/sliders differ from 2wd to awd so a 6mm spacer is needed and a little clearance, nothing too serious

Screenshot_20240308_185014_Gallery.jpg

and a set of braided brake lines, assumed they would he clear or black but naaa, red and a tad tacky 🤣🤢

Screenshot_20240308_185125_Gallery.jpg

They also come with stainless hardware and anyone that knows anything stainless is the worst material ever created, shouldn't ever be used on anything other than the food industry, hopefully the OEM bango bolts will work, instead, if not.. hey well curse it it in the future when it bites me in the ass 🤣

Haven't updated this or even put a spanner near it yet, purly been stockpiling parts to make it as great as humanly possible

So we'll carry on from the brakes

To the rear end

The rear camber isn't ideal expecially when we add the front end grip it will become more of an issue, out on track with no front grip etc masked the possible rear issues

20240414_123806.jpg

I'd guess it's either roll center issue due to it being relatively low that's causing it, maybe the axle has had a tweak in some way in the past, so to rule it out I ordered a reman axle, means we know its not it from now on in, rules out any doubt

20240411_173209.jpg

20240414_114204.jpg

Then with everything in the car it's all powerflex black series front to back

20240314_180059.jpg

"Free sticker and keyring" 😂

20240314_175822.jpg

Neary ordered a oem 67mm bush checked it bored turns, they were 69mm lucky save

20240414_114338.jpg

Then to reduce roll center, a set of offset plates were ordered too plus they give 15mm of wheel base aswell as 25mm of roll center correction

20240411_202103.jpg
20240414_115652.jpg

Then a full whiteline antiroll bar kit for the rear

20240414_120246.jpg

That will do for now, I've that many parts/pics to cift though

With the 19th coming fast and I don't really get any dayd off work, we are getting there

Waiting on a part for the rear from Germany and a part for the front from Poland and it will be back on its feet in literally a couple of hours

Currently its

stripped
washed
sealed
brake pipes free and flexis fitted
axle bushed and hung
suspension and whiteline fitted
hubs and brakes fitted

The leon cupra rear dust coves were a no go so scrapped that idea
