When I've had stubborn bleed nipples, I clean out the centre hole with a small drill and fill it up with penetrating fluid, put the cap back on and leave it while doing something else and come back to it later / next day. Usually works tbh, if not, a bit of heat is next on the agenda, followed by welding a bolt to it. Anything before snapping it off and drilling it out which takes ages.

£150 is a fair price if they've already snapped it which on a fairly newish car, sounds a bit rash. Probably have Norman the nipple cracker on standby to 'loosen' the stubborn ones...
