New number plates for EVs

I seen the government has come up with a genius idea to identify electric vehicles.... I give you the 'green flash' numberplates.

Green 'flash' number plates to encourage the switching to electric cars and avoid congestion charges

The transport secretary has also announced millions in funding for battery and hydrogen vehicle research.

Personality I really hope these aren't mandatory. I prefer a cleaner look on a plate.

How utterly pointless and dumb. I hope they didn't squander any taxpayers money dreaming up such bull****.....but no doubt there was a group getting paid a fortune to dream it up, and they're all going around patting each other on the back

They're not mandatory nor do they actually have any real world benefit/relevance/point

What a daft idea, surely they could come up with something more enticing.

What about a small QR code on the windscreen and do away with the plate??
