So was up with my dad today and fired the eg6 on the ramp

Bit of damage underside from a forklift by the looks of it! Should be easy fixed.

Little bits of surface rust but nothing rotten underside apart from back of sill pockets. Very orignial underside to be fair! Noticed the brake lines and also fuel lines are rotten so they will have to be changed, when doing this I'll be sorting the underside and treating it while the tank etc is out.

Looks to need outer back sill inner back sill and arch as well.. happy enough though still alot better shell than the eg9! Aiming to have it sorted for next summer. Gonna start the cutting and welding soon and still alot of bits to collect and get.

It wouldn't be an EG without some rust 😂

Don't know if you'd be interested but I do have a brand new HEL brake line kit for sale for EG civics,

Class project mate! A mate of mine had one when we where in our teens. Only it was a 1.3. We used to take it to car meets and just chill out on the tailgate with the tunes blasting from the sub in his boot :joy: It was a bit rough back then so I dare say there aren't too many left that haven't melted like a packet of Skips!

Despite it's rough edges it got the treatment! Full respray and all. This was it that one time it looked half way decent lol

Health to enjoy the new project! If you're going to go to town like you did with the silver one, it's gonna be immaculate! (y)

So been toying with the idea of using decals I've collected over the years.
There genuine honda ones, but grey.. some teal cars came with grey but what do yous think?

The car has silver on atm. The grey and silver are now discontinued and not so easy to get same as silver.

I think against the blue silver is going to be far easier seen. Plus if you keep alloys a nice bright silver, same for headlights and exhaust, it will all tie in.

I think silver stickers would suit it better. Handy that you have brand new oem stickers, should make it much easier to get some silver ones made up. I would be getting a few sets made and then you can sell them to recover some of the cost.

Doesn't look too bad underneath ........ for an EG!

I had 3 of them (LSi, then ESi and a VTi) and they were great to drive, always loved how tail happy they were on lift off.

Yeah I was thinking the same that the silver will stand out. Just bought a oem silver civic so just need to source the vti...

I'll keep the grey handy just didn't want to use them as I was offered ridiculous money for them:-#

Yeah its definitely not to bad at all. My eg9 needed rear pockets on rear floors welded etc this literally needs nothing which is nice!!

There seriously tail end happy but dc2 rear arb and lowered sorts it which I'll be doing

Thats the start of the strip down! Bit more rust found today rest of the panel is fine so see what I can do with it.
Not to bad in behind!
Need two new or real good light brackets and new inner guards both sides.
Engine will be coming out and bay etc all painted to.
Hopefully have it teared down properly over the weekend!

Few more bits done today.
Boot lid took of and stripped down.
Rear flat side mouldings took off (late car must have also got them)
Rear lights out
Back bumper of (every bolt was that badly rusted they had to be drilled still need to get the rest out)
Roof trims and wind screen trims off as well.
Rear interior out.

Next stage is welding! Don't think the car needs inner arches so won't need fully stripped down which is good.

Hopefully next time some structural updates hopefully.

So was up last weekend at the car and doing some stuff to a few of the other cars.
Sanded the roof rust down and two holes poked through! Not a good sign so going to strip the head cloth off and see what is hiding under it.

Some parts also arrived today after waiting months. Raging the front lip is seriously damaged/bent. Came directly from honda so hopefully they just replace it!
Also got a ABS caution decal
And also my light/wing liner brackets as mine were rotten.

Nearly stripped down now! Seriously surprised how clean the floors etc are! Apart from the bit of damage from a previous owner lifting with a fork lift🤨 Parts racking up rightly! Think im going to need to SiR 2 front seats as just not happy with my own.

Few more bits done Plastics all out just need to take a few other pieces out and the headcloth
Just realised the sills and arches haven't been touched original spot welds etc still on the arches
Going to try keep as much of the arch as i can as its really only the back part of the arch where it meets the bumper and the flat bit that meets the sill thats bad. So no replacing full arches!😁

This was what my first car was supposed to be, same colour too...once I realised a cr-x was unrealistic ..turned out an EG was too. Unbelievable to see one so good 25 years on. Absolutely subscribed to this thread. Good luck!

A bit of work ahead, looking forward to see it come together.
Yeah still all to be done yet.
Trying to collect as much as I can before I start so once it goes to paint it can come straight back and be built up.

Nice project, plenty to do. Get that rust beat.

Sometime I plan to strip my EF down to a bare shell and make sure its not going to rust out on me.
