Pleasantly surprised by that episode, worked really well I thought. I thought they worked really well together. That wee Flintoff chap is just nuts, quite literally 😂

Seems like it will be Chris reviewing supercars and the others doing the comic bits. Nothing wrong with that.

Oh, and no "star in a reasonably priced car" ballix, excellent! Minimal studio waffle too.

Add it all up and it worked very nicely.

The guests will be back next week. It never usually bothered me, but I'd be happy to get rid of it tbh.

Could always FF past it. It was much better without that last night though, didn't even notice it was missing until thinking back on it just now, lol 😇 😁

Couldn't have summed it up better. Had it marked down before I gave it a chance, glad I watched it

I enjoyed it.
Could do with oul mcguinness toning the shouting down a bit but other than that it was good.

Yeah I can’t believe footage wan’t shown of the the pista actually doing that time....

Ferrari previously refused to have the la Ferrari timed against the McLaren p1 etc

The lack of footage makes me question the legitimacy of that lap time

I did wonder about that too. Not quite as conspiratorial as you, lol, but it was a bit odd. Especially with Ferrari history of insisting on special tyres, setup, driver, etc.

It was also an odd choice of "matching McL", as for similar money to the Ferrari it would have been the next one up in the McL range. Which as it happens was also on the board already and much closer to that Ferrari lap time. There was no mention on the show about that either.

The show has always been totally open about things like this in the past though. Just a bit odd.

Watched it on the flight to work last night not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised! Was laughing out loud a couple of times(gin may have helped this) and the 3 work well together.

That Pista is something else, would love to have seen it go round the track!

Was pleasantly surprised.

The taking unusual cars too far flung places and situations is a well tested formula, but it has limited legs.

Also thought it was very strange that no fast laps were shown.

I don't agree about Paddy not being a car guy. I perked up when he said about fitting twin webers to his escort back in the day.

The producers told him to say that.

Myself and a friend were fortunate enough to get tickets for the filming of the last episode yesterday. 😊 Long day of flights, hire cars and standing about waiting to get from the car park to the studio as there was a delay in filming. It was support to be filming from 12pm to 3pm, but it was 2.30 before we actually got over to the studio 🙈

The three guys seem to have a genuine good chemistry even off screen, mostly revolving around taking the piss out of Harris for his height 😂

Unfortunately due to needing to leave at 4.30 to make a 7pm flight out of Heathrow, we only got to see the recording of the final episode. They had a tea break (which was when we left) and were going to record a shorter episode after the break. I can only assume another episode similar to week one, where the studio bits were brief.

No phones allowed inside the studio, so have one of some hanger doors 😂😂😂

I thought it was very good too tbh. Only issue I see is it won’t sell very well worldwide, having Matt was a great anchor for that after the three boys.
Really no one outside of the UK has heard of Paddy or Freddy

First time I’ve laughed watching top gear for a long time. Watched 2 episodes from Clarkson and co left but really enjoyed that tonight.
The electric shock race was so funny. I laughed so much. Brilliant

Another fantastic episode. The Tesla review was just what you wanted in a review and there were plenty of laughs throughout helping forget the Sunday night dread.

Know what you mean about the worldwide boots it has to fill @chris_b but surely they need to get it right here first or the whole thing could end up dead in the water.

Personally I think it’s the best chance I’ve seen the show given yet. Anyone any idea of ratings?

Defo think it’s good Andy, and truthfully preferring it greatly to the last few seasons but... as with anything it’s all about the money and of all the countries who bought the previous incarnations don’t buy this one, whilst we like it they will drop it like a hot potato

Also think they’ve massively f’ed up this whole Stig thing. There is a reason for it which frankly beggars belief but the revenue that character brings in world wide in merchandise annually is frankly amazing so again, they seem willing to damage that too 🤷‍♂️
