You can. But there’s not much requirement. With steel rods and forged pistons, bigger Turbo they can easily make 450-500bhp. Which is completely wasted in a Nova lol

Makes sense to be fair. What power are you going for in this 300/350?

The most unenjoyable part of any resto - underseal removal 🤮

Brutal Job :worried:

used the MBX on about 6” squared and completely coated myself in rubber underseal and wax oil. Got fed up and went for a shower.

gonna be a long few weeks. Then it’ll go for blasting.

Excuse my ignorance but can this not be blasted off or is it too thick?

it would just bounce off the rubber underseal
@KeithRobinson is it a big job to go 5stud?
Or have you any idea what’s needed

I’d stay purple also

you need the hubs off a 5 stud vauxhall of the same era (cavalier etc). The same modifications then are needed as per any big block.

you can’t go 5 stud without the bigger engine as Nova driveshafts won’t fit the hubs

Got the shell back last weekend. Big thanks to @JamieG95 for the transport.

The front panel is being replaced, hence not being done. But it’s all ready now for a few small repairs then off to AG in Jan for paint.

So, small update.

- Got the car loom back from being refurbished and alarm removed
- Ordered silicone hoses and fuel system
- Ordered new roof lining

And today Alan collected the shell to start the bodywork. We discussed colours and I think I’ve a good idea....

I wanted to put my stamp on the car, without totally changing it.

In 1995, it was repainted in Rover Amaranth Purple, which had a blue flake. Proper 90’s.

Now, it’s been reimagined in Porsche Amaranth Purple… yes, believe it or not… same name!!

It’s a beautiful 90’s colour, PTS on some lucky 993’s.
