Can someone explain to me in simple terms which package is best of OBD11?

In the past I used Bimmercode and Bootmod3 (neither had a subscription 🙄) for all my BMW coding etc but I'm not familiar with VAG products. Rosstech is to complicated for me, or at least it was in 2005 🤣.

All I'm looking to do is code a few features that are already on the car (B9.5 Audi) but just need enabled.

Thanks

You buy the dongle and then can buy credits to turn things on, or can code for free if you know what you’re doing.

There are subscriptions as well but to be honest unless you plan to use it loads might not be worth it.

£20 of credits let me do all I needed across a few motors.

I’ve literally just bought this but not used it yet (it arrived yesterday)

My understanding is that is you only want to use the one click apps then you just need the nextgen device and credits whereas if you want to use long code features you need to get the pro/ultimate subscription.

I have just went with the dongle and credits for now.

I think @Boydie uses it quite a bit.

What are you looking to do?

The OBD11 forum is decent for info and the app gives you options to automatically change settings that you choose

Can't get a straight answer as to a list of things that can be coded.

Bimmercode gave you a definitive list.

Things like traffic sign recognition, alarm beep, DRL's on rear etc

Carista can do all, but I've no idea how much they charge now 8-(

When you plug your car into OBD11 it will bring up what quick changes it can make like the ones you’ve listed.

Happy to loan mine out or pop round some weekend to mess around with it.

I've been looking at these as well as vcds cables again, albeit vcds dearer to pick up but can sell on at little to no loss if patient for decent priced cable.

Although you could make a profit on obdeleven dongle as people are mental on eBay paying for former pro dongles at like £80/90 even with no subscription, so basically a standard dongle which costs about £40 new from manufacturer.

From my understanding most things cost about 10 credits to enable, which is €1.99 from manufacturer. There are cracked obdeleven apps out there I've just discovered, might need to look into that more 🤔😉

I bought one for £50, works great but riddled with malware according to windows. Always run it in an XP VM with no internet connection or file shares so it can do what it likes.

I take it that's a 'vcds' cable you got? If so was it from a guy in Newtownabbey?

@gpaevo I just checked my OBD11 app for your model of A4 (obviously some are spec dependant). The C number in the corner is how many credits they are to activate.

Brake Disc Wipe sounds intriguing
Was thinking that ^o)
Really appreciate that, there certainly is a fair few things on there i'd like. My car already has a deal of those too.

How much is 1 credit?

It works out at about 2euro for 10 credits But its cheaper if you buy them in bigger packs (18 for 100).

The break disk wipe is when it applies the brake every lightly so often when its raining to remove surface water.

I didn’t realise removing stop start was 100 credits. Was expecting that to be 10!

They aren't stupid 🤣, they know they will make a fortune off that one.

I'm still shocked that you've to pay for credits or subscriptions. All the BMW stuff was a one of payment of like £19.99 for an app.
