Or the ones that can tell you everything that could go wrong with your car without ever having owned one or even sat in one. Had a fella come over to me at a petrol station and really aggressively ask me how many engines I had gone through. He actually was annoyed when I told him it had 130K on it and I was not long back from the Nurbugring giving it death on both the circuit and the autobahns. So then he went with, I'll bet it's rusty as f**k though to which my answer was that the MOT man who passed it an hour ago seemed to think it was ok. He just walked off in disgust lol :joy:

I just find it hilarious that people love to hate from a position of complete ignorance.

Must have done well to avoid these sorts.

Have had knocks on the door, messages on here, PMs on Facebook and even notes under the wipers lead to a waste of time when someone asks is a car for sale.

Everything’s for sale at the right money, yet when you ask them what they’re willing to pay for it seeing as they’re the one interested in buying - all of a sudden they’ve no answers. Usually because they are either expecting it for free or aren’t expecting me to say yes, I’ll sell, what are you going to pay? I don’t like being forced to come up with a price for something on the spot either and if you can buy another one elsewhere for less then why don’t you do that instead of bothering me? I don’t keep any car for the next person or to sell on, so am more than happy spending good money after bad to have it the way I want it lol. I’m fine with that but I’m not going to give a car away because someone has asked me to.

I can see why some folk just tell door knockers to sail on. Would do your head in that.

That was one of the main reason I wanted all the cars under cover, we are well away from anyone but would get the odd delivery driver ask me if they were for sale but the peace and quiet from ejits now is great.

If you could ask what the Primera is? If its a viable GT, there'll be a finders fee payable🤣
Saw these today on my travels before actually going to work😬View attachment 366462View attachment 366463

I sold that 80 Cab about 6/7 years ago, was a rather clean one back then.

Was loading up after the test, when someone walked over, his words to me was "You're one of those boys I hate, have the cars, but too scared to drive them" .
On the flipside of this, when the uncle was in his heyday of restoring MK1s/MK2 Escorts, Capris and the like, his mentality was that cars were made to be driven…and drive them he did (like he was 17 again a lot of the time 😂) Not only as show cars all over Ireland and England but as dailies in a lot of cases. That’s when the muppets started saying ‘Oh that’s too good to be driven, you should put that away, you’ll ruin that car’ and so on 🙄

He’d a beetle years ago that had a Resto before we got it, really solid wee car but like a lot of bugs had wings and bumpers etc changed for earlier ones. It was a cheap wee car and great fun. A guy started to point out things that weren’t right with it and every time bro just told him it was a South African import and that’s the way they came 😂

What’s frustrating is when people just leave stuff lying to rot and won’t sell then the car ends up scrapped.
Same time, with some utter oxygen theiving cretins landing up asking whats for sale (generally not a specific car) I'd more happily cut the roof off anything they'd interest in with a grinder than sell 😂

aul scrap
if i go asking about a laid up car i'd do my best to at least set a fair price.
been chasing a '93 rover metro that's barely left a driveway since 2007 and thought it had been baled until i asked athe family again and the woman's daughter has taken charge of it after her mother's passing

got my foot in the door to at least say i'd have interest in it if they wanted it moved on instead of it going off to be cubed

Spotted these up by Paintworkz,

not even sure they were that common in the first place. Anyone know what they are?

I think they're Oldsmobiles, possibly a Ninety-Eight and a Cutlass or a Ninety-Eight coupe? Big '70s Yank bruisers if so. The C-body was also used for other manufacturers in the GM stable so could plausibly be Pontiacs or something similar. If you fancy seeing a land yacht of the same era put through its paces the car chase in The Seven-Ups is worth a watch and features a Pontiac boat.
