Will those old heads run unleaded fuel ok? Comiskey’s are the one stop solution without a doubt, do all our engineering work

No.

It was a topic discussed at length prior to having the heads skimmed. I checked the valve seats and although there was signs of pitting etc i measured across all the valve stem heights and there was no signs of seat regression. After a couple of lapping sessions they cleane up great.

Who knows how many years this engine has been used without leaded fuel?

The upshot was the owner didn't want to spend having the seats replaced if the engine was going to still cook after this work, he will do 500-1000 miles a year absolute tops in this thing, its just a bit of fun for him. A lead sub will have to suffice.

Heads retorqued, clearances done, coolant drained and filled fresh.

All running sweet, just have to change out the fan switch as its 105 deg on to 95 off and i don't want it going above 95 if i can help it. Couple of wiring bits to finish but it can be done in his garage as i want mine back 😂
