Vtec....errr yo!
Where have they all gone? Was just thinking back to Portadown/Lurgan cruise in late 02 and Antrim/Nutts in the snow at the start of 03 and thinking that there havent been cruises organised on that sort of scale for a good while. These days its all shows or Portadown or Bangor on a sunday night where u just sit there.Did the police crackdown too much or did people just run out of locations/energy?Or have i not being going to the right places?

Londonderry has organised cruises every few weeks especially during the Winter months, they arent bad but nothing special. Worth the trip out from the house to see who's about I suppose

lol i remember those days, the hunt for decent locations, backup locations, decoy locations...the convoys leaving from halfords...trying to second guess the police like the night after 4play 2002.

ahh the days...lots of reasons for the cruising scene dying off from police reaction right through to the ammount of shows on ppl got bored i think.

Too much 'online organisation' has killed it as well. Its turned cruises into meets because its so easy to find out what's going on, where. The underground element has been lost from the cruises of yesteryear. I wouldn't be surprised if we see it come back!

i think to get it back we need to but out all the wee meets and photoshoot and have 1 big event every month or 2 and look forward to it! police have clamped down on it but the old days people didnt care and moved onto new location! i reckon the hardcore underground cruises have died, where no1 wud have been able to stop it! can we bring it back? thats the question! :grinning:

the first rule of underground cruises is you do not talk about underground cruises online

Still do, though its more like "3 or 4 roundies and back", think the drag racing you are on about was at Silverwood, and it ended with the destruction of a scooby.

silverwood was a dodgy stretch but got the blood flowing in a run.... :lol fun days indeed. 40 ft trailers sitting loaded on side of the run...twisted: been up that run a few times...lol certain cav driver used to challenge everything and even wait on the line till someone came along to give him a run.

There's one on in Londonderry on the 19th of this month if anyone fancies the trip - last time I was there the dragging was going well, some fast hyundai coupe, glanza turbo, punto turbo, cavalier and numerous others givin it lulty. Cops don't seem to mind peope using the Homebase car park either as its fairly out of the way. Although Im sure they wouldn't be too pleased about the racing up and down the cresent link
