"When we were asked to do a manual conversion on an E38 740i, it didn't sound too complicated. But, when the customer wants it to look totally factory stock, it became just a little bit more technically challenging. This is the first in a two-parter documenting the long and laborious process behind doing just that. "

"We thought it would be fun to take a bunch of spare parts and build a unique car out of them. What we had was a black BMW 5-series with no engine or transmission, some left-over white panels, a beat-up but running car, and some wild imaginations..."

"In this (overdue, sorry!) episode, we fit an M52tuB28 engine (E46 328i / E39 528i Double Vanos) into an E36 chassis. The E36 is a lovely 2000 318ti Sport in Avus Blue imported from Japan, and while it would sound like a simple swap, in reality, every weird thing possible came up and made this a very involved project.
