P1186 error code hyundai 1.7 crdi

Hi all

My sister has a hyundai ix35 1.7 crdi engine. She's been having a few issues and got her mechanic to plug in to check for errors. P1186 was the error code but he says he rang hyundai and they were not wanting to share what the issue is and told him to bring the car to the dealership.

Has anyone else suffered with this issue before? If so, what is the fix? Just before she has to bring it back to the sealers.

Seems like a simple enough issue to sort then?? Any recommendations on who to sort this in the antrim area? Obviously my sisters mechanic is incapable of sorting this. Thanks

It will be the fuel filter. We have had 3 replacements in our 2014 ix35 and we are only on 67k. Complained to Hyundai and they have done 2 of them free of charge. It should be changed at 20000 miles now on an updated filter I believe. Our one has had hesitation, limp mode and cutting out as some of the symptoms.

It's is low fuel pressure due to blocked fuel filter am in me fourth one in a year but I do get free fuel thats not the best quality but for what I save on not buying fuel I can replace my own fuel filter
