Very nice!

Can I ask, did BHP convert the cluster to MPH?
Hey Nick, thanks!
Yeah they did indeed, it’s all part of the package and the service they provide for all of their import vehicles. Great lads to deal with.

I used to own an R36, hands down my favourite car that I have owned and the one that I regret selling the most.
Seen yours about a fair bit, nice to see one back on NI roads.
Very nice car, health to drive

Evening all, been a while since I posted on here so thought I’d update you all with what I’ve done to the car recently. Upon first thoughts, I didn’t think I had done very much to the car, but after thinking about it, I’ve done quite a lot. Here’s the list.

- De-catted exhaust & had engine remapped.
- Fitted a Forge “dustbin” intake.
- New 4in slash cut exhaust tips.
- Blue coil covers (to match the blue Forge intake)
- New personal reg on
- Wrapped roof bars & window surrounds.

This is how the car sits now. I don’t have an actual photo of my engine bay with the forge intake fitted, but here’s another photo of the exact same setup as mine.

I think I’m more or less finished with the car now. Not much else I want/need to add to the car, I’m happy - for now 😁

I’ll be at Dubshed this weekend, feel free to say hello if you see me near the car.

Thanks again,
Chris

What sort of ££ to do the roof bars? I've wanted this done to the wife's V60 but never got around to it.

Car is looking really well

Thought you would have gone black for the window surrounds when I first read, something different

Cost me £250 to get the roof bars and window surrounds done in our Q5 4 years ago from Auto Skinz NI - still pretty perfect. Couple bubbles on the roof rails but I have had the roof bars on and off numerous times over the period.

Thank you! 😎 I think it was around £150 as I got him to give the car a wash, single stage and ceramic coat the whole car & wheels while it was in and was quoted £150 for that, total bill came to £300 for the lot.

I’d thought about doing them black. Only thing that put me off was that the diesel passats and normal petrol ones all have black roof bars and window surrounds, and I kinda wanted to stand out a bit as they are originally a silvery/chrome colour anyway. Colour matches the car very well.

The silver is very nice and it’s a change from the normal black. I love what you have done with the car and I bet it sounds awesome. Do you have any sound clips?

Looks class. We had one in work yesterday, a blue saloon and it just looked so cool still!

Thank you very much! I’ve a good few vids of it, can’t figure out how to attach them on here. Could ping you a few on insta if you wanted to hear it?

Thank you JC! The blue is a ridiculously nice colour in person. I would’ve loved a blue estate but they were so much dearer than a silver.

Finally catching up on sleep from Dubshed weekend and what a weekend it was. It’s my birthday today and the ultimate birthday present was getting the R36 inside, totally over the moon!

Also got speaking to a good few members off RMS about the car etc, something I’ve really missed after a fairly lengthy absence of attending car shows!

Looks amazing but there is something about the rear that looks off, maybe the size of the plate as it doesn't sit right in the recess, maybe the plate screws or size of the font?

Not a fan of the chrome strips but I know it wraps round the car at the level

Other than those tiny details, such a cool car!

I’ve never been happy with the size of the plate if I’m honest! It is too big but it’s all I could get locally within a short timeframe. Must actually order the proper size that fits right. I’ve also tried sticking the plate on with numberplate sticky’s to avoid using those screws but it just won’t hold 😠

Thanks for the feedback tho, it’s always good to hear these wee things that I need to improve on!

I think @Neil@rockvale would be able to help with the plate front

With regards to the stickies, are you heating them before you put them on?

I normally wipe down the area with a panel wipe, heat the stickies to the plate, heat the area to be stuck too, reheat the stickies then apply. Never had a set come off.

Just trim it yourself to the desired size, wipe with alcohol wipes and then stick it down.

@R36_ do you mind If I ask who you are insured with? I have a trade policy with CIP but they are about to kick my car S6 back due to it being imported.

Have you tried Adrian Flux? That’s who I’ve used with anything imported.

I am with “budget insurance” - they were the cheapest on the comparison websites by a long shot. Made sure to read through the policy to make sure I wasn’t being had, but looks like a rock solid policy. Im 27 and it’s just over £500 for the year.

A few updated images of the boogie bus. The genius that is Mark Easton took these for me and they turned out a treat.

No further plans for the car, just drive it and enjoy it. Hard to believe I’ve owned it for over 3 years now.

I did post a few for sale ads on Facebook to see if there was any interest, to which there was a few PM’s landed in my inbox but nothing serious.

I think I really need to advertise it on the likes of autotrader or collectingcars as I think those are the most likely places where it will sell, but, holding off on throwing it up there as I know once it’s advertised on there, the process of truly letting go of this marvellous machine will be started.

It is a lovely wagon. I saw it up the North Coast a good while back and thought it looked fantastic.
