Peugeot 306 HDi - 90 bhp or 110bhp?

i've heard that some HDi's or 90bhp and some are 110bhp standard. How can you tell which is which?

I think the 110 versions were a factory option to try and shift the last remaining cars before the 307 but I'm sure someone will correct me on this

AFAIK alll 306 HDI's were 90 Bhp the 406 HDI and 307 HDI were both 110 BHP Also i beleive the 110Bhp HDI engine has an Intercooler , the standard 90 bhp HDI does not have and Intercooler....

Got this from another forum, 'fit an intercooler and then remap the ECU it will give 135bhp. Then you can get a piggy back ECU which will gain an additional 25-28bhp. 160bhp - £1640 inc. VAT all the work'

i thought the hdi would have an intercooler considering the d turbs has a top mounted one

The 306 HDI didnt have a 110bhp option (mores the pity) It only cam with the 406HDi and also now on the 307HDI. You can fit an intercooler o the 306HDi but its quite expensive. A cheaper alternative is the tuning box. Puts the car up to around 115bhp and also increases the torque. Hope this helps!

Nope, 306 HDi's def dont have an intercooler.

I'm sure though that some of the very last run of production models came with 110bhp as an option??

306 Hdi's where 90bhp, but you can get em to 115bhp with a tuning box.

406's came with a 90, 110 and 2.2 130bhp options.

You can fit the intercoller from the 406 to the 306, good company is www.dervdoctor.co.uk for advice and info.

yes they are all 90bhp. 307/406 had intercoolers, different blocks and nicer EPROMS
