I got stuck into it this evening when I got home from work . Big improvement but still needs a lot more cleaning in all the footery bits.
A few before and after pics

The boot floor is mint and it has the full size spare wheel and the complete tool kit

It also still has the original blue mats . Has to be pretty rare

Do they bring it over to the yard here for you or do you just organise your own transport?

I get all my cars brought back by Parker Transport in Ballycastle. I believe they do offer transport but I’d say it’s very expensive

Not me, mine’s been thrashed around Kirkistown on Castrol Edge 10w60 for years with no issues!

For track use that's slightly different lol, I doubt this will be seeing the track any time soon. Have you had many issues with yours in general?

In 5 years it’s had an alternator, alternator adjuster and a crank sensor, it’s been fantastic.....oh, well it did set itself on fire sitting in my drive lol dodgy mirror adjuster in the drivers door, all gutted and poly windows in now, as well as a kill switch for power :grinning:
It could do with a gearbox now as the syncros complain when it’s Rushed, I picked up a 41k miles cup box for £150 already.
Btw mine is still road legal and I have used it quite a bit, gets some looks though :p

Great stuff. I picked mine up as a stopgap but I can see me holding on to it for a good while.

Finally got my finger out and dropped it over to the mechanic. It wouldn’t start and turned out the fuel pump had died. There was a bit of water and rust in the tank so that will be all cleaned out. I ordered a new fuel pump today and the dephaser pulley and aux belt arrived .

The injectors will need cleaned and when all the rest of the service stuff and brakes are fitted that’s her ready for it’s first mot in 11 years. It should be back with me in a week. I’ll get it through mot and probably park it up until next year.

Love these, definitly one to hang on to. There was a mint dark blue one for sale a while back with low miles at £5k so they are on the up.

Ran the Clio in for its first MOT in over ten years and it passed no bother

Work done has been
Fuel pump
Air filter
fuel filters
oil filter
Plugs
Oil
Water pump
Dephaser pulley
Timing belt
Aux belt
Front and back discs and pads
Handbrake adjusted
Replaced cracked front fog.
New LED number plate lamp fitted
Headlamps buffed to remove yellowness

It was the first time I got a proper drive in it. It drives very well and the induction note when it gets up over 5000 revs is pretty good. Now I’m sort of stuck as to weather I want to spend more on it and keep it or put the money into the golf gti instead ? Decisions decisions
