Post Brexit NI New vehicle emission regulations

Anyone seen this: Northern Ireland to be left out of new UK car emission restrictions ?

Not clear what effect it will have but could influence the car market here, will certain models not be available in NI etc?

All major carmakers who sell cars in the EU must reduce their average carbon emissions to below 95g per kilometre over the course of 2020 and 2021

So they will have to do what Aston Martin did years ago when they sold the cygnet. Create some frugal Toyota IQ clones o they pull the average down for their bigger brothers.

From what I read it's more likely to be the other way round. Car makers are unlikely to develop cars just for the UK where as we'll still be under the EU re this so we're more likely to get them as no extra development required for us.

Ireland... Just saying.

It's all emissions based, they'll probably exclude certain engines from the UK market. Though we'll all be electric soon enough so it won't make a difference.
