I have a 51 Stepside in stock!

I reckon there could be enough old American trucks round RMS to have us a good Redneck truck meet lol

Cheers have to agree I do think the tanks looks the Bo**ocks.

But whats all the shiney without the brains to go underneath, so ive been piping and wiring away.

Started with the front wing looms with 1mm with some DT connectors

Generally tidied up most of the wiring hanging in the cab and sorted the loom.

Going to have to get some decisions made on the bed now, some tough calls to be made. Been putting it off for as long as I can to start and see how everything else shapes up.

Cheers,

Hats off, you look like you are enjoying the wiring. Anything more than a 3 pin plug and my shutters go down.
What type of bed would you like to have?

I actually hate it, not to say I cant do it but its just alot of work I dont think anyone sees or apreciates.

On the bed front ive sketched several but its a strange balance 12ft is the minimum it will be to cover the chassis, but how wide and if i should taper it or extend it with a tail. Is what im debating any more than a couple of feet will make getting it in the shed a pain, 12ft may just let me get a 110 defender on the back. it will be made of Ali so weight isnt a big issue, just dont want to make it too cumbersome as if I need more space I can just tow a trailer.

This was my initial idea, but im thinking of adding another foot or 2 at a slight angle at the rear.

The thinking will have to continue.

Cheers,
Ged

That looks pretty much dead on to be honest, any much longer would leave a big overhang?

But all depends what you want to use it for more than looks, it will be awesome either way.

Loads of small jobs done this week, got the glass cut to size and fitted, not entirely happy with the windscreen rubber so ive ordered another one should be here this week

Got the interior light restored and a 24v bulb for it and fitted and wired it

118597582_2869333283300103_6349783738193719927_n.jpg

Pressed all the studs into the front adapters and got those refitted

Ah the dream, I dont have space for trailers unfortunatly but down the road maybe, im debating adding the structure in for a 5th wheel now incase I decide to later.

Ive been upto pleanty but just havent had alot of time to photo it, and its all little jobs here and there.

The main thing ive gotten done is the rear mudflap brackets and a new peice for the broken mirror arm. Also did my best to scrub up and treat the old rubber on them.

Not sure if Truck Nutz are still a thing but that truck could wear them better than most.

Do it. You know you want to.

Mud flaps are just a brilliant finishing touch.

I've the exact same night heater @Ged and it's brilliant.

I heard the same from alot of people for the money that they are hard to beat, looking foward to toasty drives lol.

Are those original mud flaps still?

Yup as far as I know, they are made or really tought stuff and embossed be a shame to throw em away.

Ive been busy just finishing off things mostly... alot of things... Bit of a monster post as ive been neglecting this for a week

The entire wiring loom is now complete YEAY!! Everything works after a little fettling. Took the front end back off to do it.
