Don't know ford engines at all but that sounds rather tappety. One of my old novas sounded like that and had a hole in one of the hats.

Judging by the breakdown location, was in a 40 so doubt he would have been tanking it.

I was giving it a “blast”up the m5 and noticed the oil temp shot away up so backed off to cool it down and a few miles later the knocking started. On idle it’s not to bad but with a slight Rev it’s bad and hard to start to,std buckets to.
