Publicly parking an EV locally

Hi guys, my Ipace just arrived and was wondering about parking the thing and using public chargers etc. I've heard all kinds of rumours about not needing to pay for parking if you are charging etc. Looked up ni direct which to my amazement was unhelpful. Anyone on here know the score?

In public car parks you need to pay and display.

On the road parking in Belfast you can avail of up to 2 hours free parking whilst plugged in and charging and parked in the Green EV charging spaces. This is due to the max stay of 2 hours being in place and applies to EV also.

I think some other towns may allow up to 4 hours charging and free parking for their on-street parking.
