So never really done a thread of any of the cars throughout the years, cheap or upper end of my budget but with a job change and opting out of the personal use of the company car due to crazy tax I may aswell start ...

I bought this 2008 Clubman S Cat N (rear passenger side previously damaged) off a dealer a few weeks ago and struck a bit of a deal to take it the way it sits with no warranty.

2008 R55 Clubman S
82k miles
Timing chain kit done in 2019

Factory Options that I know of -
Xenon Lights
Full Leather
MFSW

She’s no show pony but something different for me and parts seem readily available

When things calm down in work it will be going to @Wild Thing for a health check/service/de coke ( still need to give you a call 🙈)

Today I replaced the original Mini AGM battery with a Yuasa AGM as the start stop no longer worked and the car didn’t save the time... also gave the battery compartment a bit of a clean while I was at it

Next job on the list is a full wiper replacement, currently fitted with Bosch but on their way out... after a little research genuine mini ones the best way to go because of the curve on the front windscreen so ordered them tonight and awaiting delivery

Will post updates once I clean/detail the car and get it in to shape

Great choice and in the best colour, although I may be biased. I have a real soft spot for the clubmans. HTD

Great to see another Clubbie (y) they are a quirky and rare beast in Cooper S form
For the age the miles are decent and good that the timing chain has been sorted
@Wild Thing will keep you right regarding its health

Any plans to tweak it?

Once the health check is done yea I’ll be having my way with it... few things

ditch the 205 Pirelli runflats to 215 wide non run flat probably to Michelin P4S or similar complete with wheel refurb

front spotlights x2 on the front grill

rear glass tint

Set of springs or decent second hand coilovers

upgrade the discs, pads, lines and fluid

Lastly... map complete with exhaust, aem induction and intercooler

If it ever crops up at the right ££ a lsd, even as it sits the traction is awful this time of year!

So finally had a few hours to myself this afternoon and got a look around the car... bits and pieces will need tided up as time goes along but it will be slow and steady...

New front and rear genuine wipers fitted today, got the car jacked up wheels off and arches etc cleaned. Started to paint the callipers but lost daylight so early start in the morning to get it finished off.

@Wild Thing can you recommend a decent disc and pad setup for fast road/occasional track use, I’ll get you to fit these the time of the health check/service along with braided lines and decent fluid.... as the pic shows recent rear discs and pads but someone shorted the pad sensor cable 🤬🤬

Alloys defo need a refurb and after a bit of research I’ll more than likely go for Yoko Advan AD08RS tyre at the time of the refurb (prob FEB/March time) instead of the P4S.

Next on the list will be a proper clean, buff, wax etc

Fast road/track is a minefield and down to personal preference ds2500 pads probably. Drilled /grooved will drive you crackers on a daily if you are a hard braker from speed

Decided to give the “bread van” a bit of a compound today and I’m pleasantly surprised at how it has started to come up after not much work 😁

Car now been serviced, new clutch, de coked, several seals replaced, coilovers fitted, AEM forced induction, AEM strut brace, Goodridge braided brake lines on complete with ATE 200 fluid and a couple of front poly-bushes.

Next on the list is Brembo discs and Ferodo pads all round.

JCW Manifold
Scorpion Sports Cat
Airtec Intercooler

What I’m still needing to buy -
JCW Turbo
Exhaust System
215 Tyres before alloys go for refurb
Turbo blanket
Evo 10 plugs

Will get more pics of the car when I’m home again in a few weeks.

Before abs after of the Engine bay with AEM stuff

Been pretty busy with work so little progress made but discs and pads now fitted complete with new backing plates....

Any recommendations on what colour I should do the wheels when the go for a refurb? Gloss black, grey, bronze etc or just stay silver? 🤷🏻

Again work work work getting in the way of this going at the speed I would like to before it heads to the track….
A bit of progress though -

Alloys refurbed and AD08R tyres now on
GFB diverter valve
M7 oil catch can
Black front grills on

In coming this week rear adjustable 22mm rear sway bar, rear adjustable arms before a full alignment…. And I couldn’t say no but bought a very cool looking Cooler-Worx shirt shifter 🙈

All in all what started out as a bit of “cheap” fun has escalated into something much more expensive!! By the looks of it the “Breadvan” will be staying around for a long time!
