Well I took advantage of the strong used car price market and got the GTR sold before the potential impending economic doom. Like most i've been at home since March/April so the car was just sitting on the drive doing nothing. Stuck it on autotrader in May and it sold within 3 weeks with some back and forth with buyers. It ended up going to England and I probably could have made another bit if i'd held onto it until recently but I was happy enough with the price

I haven't had a car since the start of June so plenty of time to scour the classifieds. The plan was to buy a cheap daily so i'm ready to move on something fancy should any bargains come up. Initially I was after a 172/182 but the ones I looked at here were dog rough and I wasn't that fussed travelling too far to get one. During the search the Meg 225/230/r26 started to come up but again, the ones here were dog rough. Everyone also is expecting top used car money no matter the condition so I was happy enough to wait.

This one came up and after some back and forth I headed over to bournemouth to get it. The owner was a K-tec racing (renault tuning specialists) employee and so the car's service history was all from there and also has the majority of their bits and pieces.

So here it is:

Ultra red
2007
62k miles
Ktec service history since 2010
Lux pack
Clio 197 retrimmed steering wheel
KTR 3" downpipe
KTR 3" exhaust
KTR induction kit
Silicon hose kit
KTR Single mass r26r lightened flywheel and clutch kit
Defi Racer 3 gauge kit
Mapped by Ktec to 275
Cooksport lowering springs
KTR 19mm spacers front and rear

It's all very similar to my clio turbo, the turbo chatter is hilarious. It's not quick, but it's fun and it'll do nicely as a daily.
The gauges aren't my thing but I looked up the price...holy sheiiiite

Not many plans because the idea is not to spend any on it but it needs a double din, maybe a wheel refurb, get rid of the horrendous mats and enjoy it.

Its very very clean for a 13 year old car, the owner was very proud that it had no stone chips filled in. I'm not in that camp so touch up paint is on the way. If that had been the Nissan every stone chip would have had the car rusted through looking like a sieve.

You just don't really see them anymore, especially in 5 door guise but I couldn't see anything else decent to tempt me sub £4k

Pretty cool. How is it to drive?

I walk by one of these most days and think it stands out since you don’t see them often as you say

Like a slightly overweight go kart. The turbo kicks in all at once and then theres a bit of fun to be had. Once the speed is up its fine in the corners but until then I don't think it's going to win many red light races

That's impressive, great history so would like to think it will hold value. I've noticed that any Renault that holds a history with K-Tec hold their value strongly.

you don’t realise how spoiled you get after having the likes of carplay and DAB. Picked up a new Sony xav-ax1005db for a decent price and popped it in there when it arrived.

Full mission putting a double din in the megane, but worth the difference to freshen up the interior

I completely agree! After being used to CarPlay in the Jetta, the M3 feels very outdated. So I've just ordered a CarPlay unit for it lol.
