Reverse Camera Woes

Removed the HU again (I’m a pro at this stage) and found a purple/white reverse wire on the Connects2 loom. Connected it to the wire of the HU and had a quick test on the garage (just engaging gears with ignition on) and all seemed well. Fingers crossed that was all it was, I’ll confirm for definite when I can get out for a drive in November.

Bear in mind on alot of modern cars the reverse signal is controlled by a bcm.....any additional resistance on the circuit and it can alter the output which would be the cause of the camera issue.

Aye I just assumed a reverse signal would be constant, hadn’t thought that even something like that could be complicated in modern cars!

Pity I didn’t spot the purple/white wire on the loom first though, as I only realised about the reverse feed after I had the car back together so would’ve saved another session trying to get it from the boot.
