30sq ft is like a 6x5ft shed. Hardly worth the bother. From memory 30 sq ft is the limit?
MarkM's quote of half total area of house is much more believable.

I’d be using the back part of the garden as the entrance to the shed. So the front of the house would be the back of the shed‘‘3. No part of the garage is in front of the principal or side elevation of the original house.’’
Looks like a garage there would be along the front and side?
And presumably, would require access across a footpath?
You might not get a dropped kerb off the footpath at the back, but you could probably live with that. Or just make your own unofficial one, lol.I’d be using the back part of the garden as the entrance to the shed. So the front of the house would be the back of the shed
No one parks out the rear so Wouldn be an issue using that part as the entrance
I’m happy enough to slightly adapt a small rampYou might not get a dropped kerb off the footpath at the back, but you could probably live with that. Or just make your own unofficial one, lol.

That’s a limit for building control before a submission to them. Planning ones are slightly different like Mark has copied inWhups, 30m sq not ft.
It still means the garage can’t protrude past the front wall of the house, which reduces the size of that grass to the side almost in half. Might still be big enough, hard to scale from above.

I think that's the rear elevation you've drawn the blue line on which would mean that clause wouldn't apply. Stand to be corrected.
Scrap that that is the front.
I have actually thought about doing this for my workbench seat. Why not make one up out of a race fuel or oil drum?
Going to enquire tomorrowIf it faces a road it doesn’t matter if it’s front or rear afaik
Best to get advise from BC imo, only takes one neighbour complaint and it has to come down

The place we’re i currently am is an agricultural shed, owner stores cattle over night an some days until they are being moved so my she’s can be very smelly at time and the dust from said shed is surreal
so ideally a garage at the house is ideal, rent free, on my doorstep literally.
Really just need it up an this is the easiest way of doing it, ideally in a year or so I'll be looking at other workspaces so want this as temporary as possible.Would you not be better building the shed and then setting it on timbers on a gravel base rather than risking those posts holding it up and then rotting?
Hope that was completely empty of any fuel vapour when you started welding
