Well im sure it wont effect too many folks here, but may effect some of you. Combining the x-power forums, mg-rover.org, zt75community and the75andztclub we are arranging the following meeting for ROVER 75 AND MG ZT cars only.

The big bonus of the meet is that Trever from BXR car's, Northern Irelands MG specialist is coming to the meet and bringing his T4 computer, to enable additional factory options for FREE, which would normally cost the guts of 30quid an hour. This is only available to people with the 75/zt as it is not suitable on other MG cars.

The meeting will be held on August the 1st @ The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum.

Recemmended parking area added.

EDITED AS OF 13/07/2010

National Museums Northern Ireland

The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum illustrates the way of life past and present, and the traditions of people in the north of Ireland. The Folk Museum invites you to visit a typical Ulster town of the early 1900s and to stroll through yesteryear’s countryside with its farms, cottages, crops and livestock.

The development of the Museum’s town, Ballycultra, offers opportunities to experience at first hand a real sense of life in the early 1900s. Costumed visitor guides, working buildings and exhibits, as well as the chance to touch, to hear and to do, bring our stories to life. Skills once commonly practised, such as lace-making, samplermaking, spinning, weaving, wood turning and forgework are demonstrated and taught in the open air Museum.

On a daily basis visitors can see a number of activities taking place, such as printing, open hearth cooking, carpentry, basket making and needlework. The Transport Museum presents Ireland’s most comprehensive transport collection and includes the Irish Railway Collection and road transport galleries and also, ‘Titanic’ and ‘Flight X2 Experience’ exhibitions.

The Museum has a varied programme of major events from Midsummer Music Session in June to the Spirit of Christmas Past in December.

The prices are below on this page.

Now Trever from BXR cars will be doing the following options (if you car has them built in, 99% of ZT's and 75's have them) for the cars, however he will NOT be doing any fault diagnosis might take up time and he wants to make sure everyone gets the options they want. (y)

Factory options that can be activated -

Daylight running sidelights (side and tail lights on with ignition on)

'Intelligent' wipers (wiper speed slows at speeds below 5 mph)

Speed locking of doors (doors lock when speed gets to walking pace)

'Lazy lock and vent' (open/close windows & Sunroof using the key in door lock only)

Single point entry (first fob press opens drivers door, second press opens the others)

Alter wiper sweeps with screenwash (none, 2,3 or 4 sweeps)

One press windows down (for all the windows)

One press window up (for the driver's window only)

'Bathrobe locking' (car can be locked from outside with engine running)

Headlamp delay (Allows car to be locked with headlights on to provide a short period of illumination)

Tail lamp off delay (as above)

Number plate off lamp delay (as above)

If anyone is interested in going (even if your just bringing your friends/mates wagon etc down) please PM me, so I can keep a personal list of who and what is going and IF they are interested in any activation of options.

Hope to see you folks there. And no. The AA isnt attending incase theres a mass head gasket failure.

Just updating the list. Please note that im currently offline until next weekend when Sky are getting my new broadband to me. If you wish to come please add your list below.

Obviously first....

0 - Guest of honor - Trever from BXR cars
1 - MacGyver

From MG-rover.org

2 - Kris 214
3 - rolled1
4 - BIG 'G' 69
5 - coalburnflyer (maybe if he gets the boat over)
6 - ZTT
7 - markydoos

From the75andztclub.co.uk

2 - G-mac + two more ZT's
3 - Amigaman
4 - OiiO
5 - buchanan
6 - the rover man
7 - johne74 (if cars fixed!)
8 - big pat
9 - sherodub
10 - Kedaha
11 - Bloke I know from work but name I cant remember. Doh. hes got a mk2 ZT anyways!

Most definatly, id say why not let everyone with a MG or Rover come along. I know the event is mostly about the 75/ZT but yes, as long as no one objects to it. Remember Trever from BXR cars is only agreing to plug Rover 75's and MG ZT's on the day up to his T4 unit, however im sure his advice will also be given for free if he has time enough.

Random MG/Rover owners

1 - Rebrab - with a MGF
2 - fatmac - with a MGF

Just a reminder to everyone this is a family event in a public car park belonging to the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum which is a public and open for normal business on the day of our meeting. There will be children in the car park visiting with their families as well as MG/Rover owners bringing their own family and / or children also.

This car park falls under PSNI duristiction and not some joyrider event for pulling handbrake turns, wheelspins in the car park and showing off with a sound system blasting out 140 Db's or sitting reving your exhaust. This will not be tolerated at all by ourselves or the Museum staff on the day.

Also remember the dual carriageway is an AVERAGE SPEED ZONE of varying speeds from 40mph to 60mph along the route all of which are clearly marked so do not speed or race to the event. You have been warned.

Anyone seen behaving in such a manor at the meet WILL be reported to the PSNI in a complete statement for dangerous driving by myself, and im trying to make arrangements for the PSNI ZT to turn up at the event also through contacts of mine within Traffic Branch if it is still road worthy and give out some free stuff for the kids or let them sit in the car if I can get it arranged in time etc.

If anyone has any questions they may contact me via email on colinrobson @ hotmail .co .uk (spaces left to stop web bots using my address).

Thanks everyone. Colin.

An update on this folks.

Ive been in contact with not only the MGOCNI.co.uk, MG Owners Club NI but also Colin @ Classic Rover Club NI classicroverclub.co.uk and hopefully many of their memebers will be attending bringing a range of cars, now I know we have a large variety going, but this opens up even more potential cars from SD1's to MGB's to Rover P6's and all sorts of honda based Rovers so this is turning into a proper event now.

Colin from the Classic Rover Club was especially enthusastic about his members who would love to come along also, with several 75 tourers also!

Im just worried my badly scraped ZT is going to look so out of place compared to so many of these awesome cars now coming.

Recemmended parking area added

Currently we have about 30 cars confirmed 100% (most of them are Rover 75's and ZT's) and at least the same with a prob/maybe going to the event of varying Rover/MG history some old and some new, but I will be there from 10am to confirm details with museum staff and such.

Time is from 12 o'clock onwards until 4pm when museum closes. Still no confirmation on PSNI ZT but I imagine they are busy enough currently.

I will be there on the day with my freshly DAMAGED ZT. Sigh. Only driving it a few days and a co worker closed an electronic gate wrecking the rear bumper paintwork. :sob:

Yes everyone, its 100% going ahead. Im unsure what the plan is if its majorly pissing out of the skys, but I hope people will still turn up.

Again, 12 oclock on Sunday, my ZT will be parked in the cornor, everyone just pull up, and make a point of introducing yourselves to me.

Everything is 100% go for this still, with plans for everyone to meet up around mid-day at the site, and Trever from BXR cars will come down shortly after.

Also, if anyone needs them, just before (if coming from Belfast) and just after (if coming from Bangor direction) on the dual carriage way you will be travelling on (the A2 main bangor road its called), theres a pair of petrol stations with jet wash / car wash facilities.

If coming FROM Belfast its a BP about a mile before the museum and if going from Bangor (and passing the turn off to the Museum) its a Shell again, about a mile after the museum.

Heres a google map link.

ulster folk and transport museum - Google Maps

Should anyone need me, I will have my old mobile on that day with my old number, 07845607178 is the number (447845607178 if your from ROI), and I will be reachable on it from about 10am on the Sunday but im binning the sim after that day anyways.

Looking forward to seing you all there!
