To think some people give that money for Corolla coupes.
Lovely car, and Escort Cossie alloys are always the best choice for them

It needs an ECU, wiring loom and a map... Still a cheap cossie with a spec like that.

did they take the ecu etc out to sell? seems strange that they run the engine in then strip it back off, or was it a simple management to get it run in?

What is the purpose of a screamer pipe and where does it go?

iit attaches to an external wastegate and vents unused exhaust gases outside ,sometimes further downstream on the exhaust , to control boost ,

those motors are 10 times the motor over the corolla rwd's they are ****e, barring the odd exception (hollingers motors) that turns up at the trackdays.

They might not be quick in standard trim but they are widely regarded as one of the finest handling Japanese RWD coupes ever made.

you might be missing the point here slide fella, my missus ka handles ok, but if you put any sort of power into her she would slide round corners.
any car with low torque can handle.

Its all about the cars chassis. 86's handle just as well with plenty more power, McNamaras SR20'd one must be 250+bhp and he can drift her with the best of them.

drifting isnt handling to me, its about getting round the corner in the least amount of time and accelerating out of it, you could put rollerboots onto a vauxhall frontera 4x4 and watch it drift round corners, that doesnt make it a great handling car.
everyone has their own ideas of what makes a great car, to me its a chassis that is designed to take the available power, not spending 000's to make it work. take the golf mk2 16v, its a great trackday weapon the way it came out of the factory, add a turbo/s.charger and it needs more than a set of springs to get the best out of it.

They dont have the following they do in Japan for no reason, and not just for drifting, they've won the Japanese Touring Car Championship on a few occasions. the diffed up superlite clad ones running about ireland have given them a bad image IMO and most people dont realise the racing heritage and respect these cars have with those who know their full potential, they are prefectly capable of handling much more power than standard :grinning:
