Was over in Scotland last weekend for a blip with a few others so thought I'd put up a few photos. 2 nights in Fort William and 1 in Sanquhar.

Got the 07.30 boat from Belfast to Cairnryan on thursday morning. I woke at 4 that thursday morning to get up and could hear the rain beating the window ffs, but you're going or you're not! I went through a vast range of emotions on the 80 mile to the boat on a naked bike in pishing rain and cold ^o)

Anyway enough waffling, and on to a few pics. There was some amazing views I seen when I was on the bike that I couldn't just stop and take a snap of. But got a few.

Big problem (if you can call it that) with Scotland is the potential for pics or something to see is so high you'd never cover any miles.. Looks awesome though, was that your first big miles trip?

Where did you stay in Fort William?Planning a trip in the "summer" with the Mrs so looking recommendations on places to stay.
Spoilt for choice, the whole A82 up the length of Loch Linnhe is lined with B&Bs/Guest houses, IIRC there's a premier inn and a fairly expensive looking hotel in Fortwilliam itself

Other possible option - Plan Oban - Mull and Fishnish - Lochaline boats and stay on Mull.. Superb wee island, The Mishnish in Tobermory gets raved about for food

We stayed in Taransay B&B. Home Page

It was dead on for what we needed, the dude that owns it is civil and puts on a good feed in the mornings. Has a bit of knowledge of local attractions. As Polobrat says though the road into Fort William is bascially lined with B&Bs so I'm sure theres plenty as good!

I really was impressed with it for somewhere thats just a quick boat trip away. It seems you are never far from a mountain/lake/impressive view. So many good biking roads too, I really enjoyed carving through Loch Lomond on the Triumph.

It was aye. Don't think I've been in Scotland since I was a toddler. It would even be worth a roadtrip in a car for someone whos not into bikes. But better on one obvs lol
