Mates got a BMW 520i(1990) with all four brakes seized, been sitting for over a year!

Any ideas on easiest way to free brakes!(sledgehammer).

dont soak them with spray lube at all, yea it will do the purpose of freeing them up, but if it is on the car when your doing it, it will leave you with no brakes, best way is to jack up each corner individually, and take the wheels off, at the front, slide the brake pad back and forwards to free up the pistons, and at the rear depending if disk or drum, disk; do the same, and spin the hub tapping with a hammer to free out the shoes, or better still remove the disks, and if drums, spin and hit with a hammer, or yet again remove the drums and do it properly, cleaning up the shoes and insides of the drums with emory paper

personnally i'd remove each caliper, strip it down, rub it down, grease it and put it back on with new pads.
