Heading to this in a couple of weekends time, can't wait!

Has anyone on here been before? Looking to find out the best corners, places to be etc, even just experiences of Singapore itself.
Have been trying to blag myself corporate tickets and pit access through work, but not happening ffs so we only have the general walk around admission, though that worked out well for us when we went to Catalunya.

Can go anywhere in the green areas in the photo below:

Singapore as a location to visit is ****ing awesome. Zero crime and clean. Pricey place to visit though Chinatown is a great way to eat and drink at a decent price.
We missed the f1 by a couple of weeks but even then the track was being laid out, around the fullerton hotel is a slow section across the bridge so might be worth getting there.

Heard good reviews about Chinatown so first night there we've booked a trishaw tour through Chinatown with a meal in one of the restaurants there! Looking forward to that!
We've only 5 days there so hoping not to spend too much......:confounded:

Chinatown isn't that big tbh, a few streets that have big frontage eating areas, massage parlour and souvineer/clothes shops. I have to say it had the best grub of our 3 weeks there. We stayed in the Robertson quay apartments, couple of nice indian and pizza places there that had takes to suit most pockets. Robertson Quay is a residential area located at the junction of Orchard Road and Singapore River
The walk along from there to the financial district is pretty cool as it follows the river, plenty of photo worthy views. Get to the zoo on the other side of the island too, they have boat tours etc and they do a decent evening show too and grub is fine. Taxis are subsidised so shouldnt cost the earth. Metro system runs on three floors beneath the city too, it's bloody busy during the day though as it shuttles something like 1m people first thing in the morning and dinner time.

Cheers @brendy, will be sure to take plenty photos (y)

Think we have a different tour every day we're there so hoping to see as much as we can in the short space of time we have. Plus obviously the F1 and support races to cram in around it all!

Excellent. Sentosa island will take up pretty much 2 days if you wanted to do the casinos and universal studios etc. Don't expect to get drunk though, it's horrendously expensive to buy there. Except Chinatown:laughing: seeing a pattern here ? Muhaha.

Missed it by a couple of weeks back in 09, but they were getting geared up for it at the time. I thought it was a fantastic city and very clean. Some say too clean, as in lacking character. You get a week in jail for importing chewing gum or making graffiti.
Food everywhere is great, so the more you pay is just for style and ambience.
Best places to eat are where the locals go; the covered, sit down, street food places are so cheap.
If you need a new tailored suit, wait and get it in Singapore.
Go for a look into Raffles hotel, but I'd guess you wouldn't get near it at F1 time unless you're one of the in-crowd.
And the subway is like a trip to the future compared to London or Paris.

Good info cheers! Can't wait to see how clean this place is, everyone has mentioned it to me lol.

May well get a suit there actually, good shout (y) And Raffles is booked an all, though just for meal/Singapore Slings.

Give them plenty of notice so they can bulk order enough material. :p
