Left the liner in to get the roof painted as it had a chip in the paint and I touch it in until I got round to painting it...

Also asked them to mess about with the front wings to get the bonnet to sit flush and make lines as even as possible as it was annoying my OCD. I plan to pick it up today 🙂

i want to redo the clutch or the bearing at least as it’s making noises but the stage 3 clutch ain’t in that long in and works fine.

plan to refresh the interior also but keep it as OEM as possible.

Before: bonnet sitting up annoyed my happiness so much and the lines of the wings weren’t perfect... as good as can be now thankfully. It’s to tidy it up for few months over the summer as I plan to do a full window out respray on it soon.

Before (roof had two weird patches and a chip outta one of them.... clean metal underneath 🤷🏻‍♂️)

After (all the trim etc still needing properly cleaned & dressed)

Took it a good drive lastnight after collecting it.... just an incredible car on an open road.

coming from the stage 2 S4 etc this beats the driving experience hands down by far, came in lastnight just one happy man 😁

They are fantastic wagons.
What had the bonnet sitting that high? I thought you had done that on purpose with spacers.

It was like that when I bought it, unsure why to be honest never really had the time to check it out properly.

All I know now the guys at JMC sorted it easily enough 🙂
Gona get in contact with Arec in Ballymena to sort front half of the interior as I want the seats and door cards freshened up.

anyone use him? Hard to pay?

Was out a blast today with the son to Montalto estate and came home and decided to removed the front seats & door cards due to being bit dirty. Plan is either to give them a deep clean or recover/replace. May do something with the steering wheel also.

was chatting to the girl who translates for Arek in Ballymena few weeks ago but their working hours ain’t great and I haven’t been able to get up to them as of yet and there is a wait due to time of year.

Would love newer seats but the price of them and new rails is pricy and wrong time of year for that for me plus I Kina wanted to keep the inside original looking as much as possible.

Any advice or guidance on a similar coloured material that would fit/work well with spec 2 colour/interior would be very much appreciated!

gtr r33 interior is old and awayyy overpriced so ruled that out.

Gona give carpet and doors etc a good scrub also & maybe replace floor mats as they’re dated looking, so should look a lot better when done

Cheers Brian appreciate that mate, il keep that in mind! 👍

I’m bidding on a spec2 passenger seat base on eBay to maybe use the material of that to fix bolster on driver seat and I’m missing handle on passenger seat also but it’s £70 for half a passenger seat 🤦🏻‍♂️

They have been up for ages. Seen them myself. At that price I think they are more ‘bride style’ surely

I’ve asked a local upholsterer guy I know to potentially take the task to renew all the bolsters and door card cloth in the car and keep the centre spec 2 pattern/design. It’s really just to give the interior a lift and make it fresh.

clutch making abit of a rumble too so planning sorting that also.

just chipping away at the old girl to make her feel 15 again and not 25 😄

have left the car to get some clutch work done, think the bearing has crapped itself and sounds noisy.

Thoughts guys… so upholster guy is booked up until end of summer,

I’m thinking of getting the standard spec 2 interior totally retrimmed now, kina what to keep it original but improved?

so plan to keep the centre of the seats the original spec 2 pattern and redo the darker worn out grey to black.

il do the roof lining etc too to match, get black fitted floor mats to replace the dates original mats, get steering wheel redone also.

should tie in with the black dash/door cards?

Can someone photoshop the seats there with original pattern with black surround?

So I finally got time to go down to Mckeevers breakers, all the skylines were spec 1’s except one which was in an awful state (well they all were) but I took what I could from it anyways to see what I could do with it.

I need abit of the spec 2 cloth to repair my bolster and door card if I were to keep it stock and in perfect condition so I lifted these… 🤣

I spent 10mins on them and they came up well to be fair, Gona strip them and give a proper clean and send off to cut up and use to repair my small section.

Was able to get a passenger seat lever handle also, RESULT! 🙌🏻

Some of the other poor cars that have been lying there for years, what a waste 😞
