Spark plug gaps

A bit old school i know but when replacing plugs on an older engine do we throw them in with pre set gaps, or do we reckon they need adjusted?

As per @carmad. Always gap em. It takes no time. Even with the cardboard protective sleeve over the tip ( sounds a bit wrong ) they can still get tweaked in transit and you never quite know if they are right for your application from the factory.

Sorry, I'm so old and dottery, I didn't see this until now....
Deffo gap them if they are normal plugs, noticed that the iridium plugs for the fiesta have a big DO NOT GAP on the packet.

These are NGK Iridium so i must actually check the box to see if it says that

So does this mean don't gap or don't wreck the tip? Lol

Don't wedge off the tip when/if opening up the gap

That’s to indicate not to use the electrode to lever when adjusting. You won’t need much force anyway but avoid grabbing a screwdriver and leveraging it.
