Going to get the MK4 looked over this week to ensure it doesn't lay down on me and get it booked with a couple of lads, anyone know any nice roads or cafes to hit close to Cairnryan?

Typically it's the airshow in Newcastle this Saturday or I would have been all over that.

Aye, I think I’ll take a run to that instead considering it’s only 10/15 mins up the road. Hopefully it stays dry considering last year’s was a wash out.

Yep, fingers crossed. Although with the exception of the Red Arrows there is nothing else to write home about. No Typhoon or any other Jets for that matter.

If it happens again, would the Lake District be too far to go? Says it will take 2.45 hours to get there

Gutted that it’s costing me over £400 to go a month later ffs

Do you shop in Tesco? I’ve used the Clubcard Boost for previous ferries booked as the vouchers treble up. Could be worth looking in to if you shop in Tesco.

Contacted nutt travel and their deal is far better than stena with RMS discount - still a lot of money but a saving is a saving

We are booked too. No idea what we are going to do in Scotland for the day but I'm sure we will find something to entertain us.

If you are over on the first boat and back on the last one Glencoe should be doable, that's where I would head to.

Great day out. Ended up taking the family in the Estima for the day. We headed off and drove to Newton Stewart and all through Galloway Forest Park, Clatteringshaws Loch and Dam, back down and around Loch Ken, fantastic scenery, onto A75 and stopped at a Chocolate Factory (random, best part of the day). Finished up at Mossyard Beach and then A75 home.

Great days drive, with plenty of stops to enjoy and a million flies killed along the way. Bargain day out! Highly recommended (y)

Super day yesterday. We headed north to Alloway, then headed East to Elvanfoot to drive the A702 to Carronbridge which I was recommended (so good I drove it twice!), down to Dumfries and the West from Crocketford to New Galloway along the A712 (another brilliant road) and onwards to Newton Stewart, from there we headed to the Mull of Galloway (most southern point of Scotland) and then back towards the boat via Portpatrick.

The above is basically a shortened/amended version of the South West Coast 300 I came up with on Friday.

Definitely keen to return and next time will cover less miles and take in more of Scotland - beautiful country!

Amazing feedback. Still pestering Stena. Despite offering this deal and you log using it it seems they no nothing about it or what department came up with it.

It would be superb to do a Scotland RMS day run!

We had a great day too, not as much driving as everyone else. Just about an hour up the road to Heads of Ayr. Excellent place, spent the whole day there, the wee man loved it.

Can't believe they don't do it regularly, for that sort of money I would be heading over all the time. The scenery and roads in Scotland are easily among the best in the world.

I had a response on Facebook today and will hopefully get a mail. Agreed, its a sensible price for what is normally an expensive piece of water to cross.

Got stung with roaming charges on my phone on the boat, didn't even know that was a thing.
£6 per MB of data.
Apparently the boat is on the maritime network which seems to be outside the EU.
