Well, after buying a 1.6 Blobeye for the winter,

I was hooked on the noise only a Subaru has. The bug had bit, so the search for a bugeye was on. I've bought one that I know isn't perfect, infact it's been modified by someone whose clearly just watched 2 fast 2 furious and thought YES! I know what to do!

Bodywork wise it has a long way to go, not a fan of the headlights, bonnet, scoop or that spoiler so they're soon to be replaced. Other than that it has a decent amount of engine work done including a TD05 hybrid turbo, SARD High Pressure Fuel Pump, Induction Kit, Kinugawa Exhaust Headers, Turbo-Back Exhaust, Blitz Boost Controller, 3-Port Boost Solenoid, STI intake Manifold, Pink Fuel Injectors, Carberry Twin map with anti-lag and launch control and BC Coilovers. Previous owner claims 380bhp but nothing to back that up until I get it on a rolling road. Interior wise I added in the 10.1" touch screen but the rest is how it was. Door speakers are wired to an amp in the passenger footwell so I'll soon change that back to standard wiring. The central gauges don't light up as they should and oil pressure doesn't show so I'll assume not wired in correctly for now. Vortex generator is broken so new one ordered, not sure how to remove the previous bonding stuff though for a clean install.
It's far from perfect, but its a project and daily rolled into one

Have to agree with @Ben P re the headlights, really like them. All the exterior needs is a standard bonnet and the vortex generator fixed and it would be there in my eyes.

Imprezas are just great machines. I've had a few and loved my last bug. They never lose the feeling of crazy boost either :joy:

It’s been chopped for FMIC piping most likely

Looks to be in decent condition. Nicest colour in them too.
Did you do a check on its history before you bought it?:eyes:

They are good fun without a massive out lay.
There won’t be many about in absolute mint condition or that haven’t been modified or have some colourful history.
It’s a great project and will be a fun car.
If you need help with anything or need parts give me a shout , I have some stuff kicking about.
Health to drive (y)

Aye I assumed it fmic was on it at some point but not even an inner mud guard on it now first taste of rain it's gonna get pretty wet and mucky in engine bay

You now ditched the subaru fold altogether now :p or still keeping that classic?

does look familiar, the 380hp bit isn't so familiar though, be a fair bit of exaggeration there (unless the seller thinks a 90hp fiesta is 200hp because of a backbox on it).

I'd say map adjustment before hitting any rolling roads - ideally with a new induction kit as those ebay ones with the bend very close to the MAF sensor never work right.

Give me a shout if you want to get it checked over and see if anything has changed on it since the last time I saw it (i think 2 or 3 owners ago).

Seems to have lost front splitter also and running different light covers. Check front as may of had a shunt or maybe stripped a little prior to sale. Regardless still cool,i think they look better now than ever.
Totally different front bumper, not sure how many owners ago that pic was from, subframe all looks good.
@bludgod that would be appreciated sometime, was thinking of a new induction kit anyway but now there's at least more of a reason to do it. Do you know what horsepower it was running or a previous owner that would? Discovering stuff for myself about it, think I found the antilag mapped into the rear screen heater button. 6 speed would be ideal but I'll leave that until the 5 blows up lol seems just fine for now on daily use

After another week or so of using it, think I'm going to have to leave it into a specialist or someone to sort a few issues, any recommendations? I'm pretty sure there's a gasket somewhere on its way out, sounds quite like a lawnmower under load. Obd2 comes back with bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor issues so I bought a new o2 sensor only to discover there's a blank in place of where it should be and either I can't find the plug it's meant to go into or a different o2 sensor is plugged I to it. I bought fog lights for it, fitted them and plugged in, only passenger side works, replaced bulb on drivers but it's a wiring issue somewhere so need to track that back, headlight wiring looks like a mess too. There's quite a few plugs that don't connect to anything in the engine bay, more than I'd have expected anyway. Bodywork wise the sideskirts need remitted as they're too low with a large gap, also any recommendations on what to remove silicone type glue that was used to fit the previous vortex generator on the roof? Fitting a new one

the bank1 sensor1 sensor was moved to the top of the downpipe instead of in the headers so that when antilag blows it up it won't shoot up into the turbo (instead shooting out the back of the car). Sensor should be visible from the top of the engine bay right behind the turbo on the downpipe. Believe it may also have TGV's delete which will leave a few extra plugs unused as well.

offer stands if you want to swing past some time I'll plug it in and see what mysteries I can solve for you.

Definitely going to take you up on it lol ah right ok, so replace that sensor then, saves me breaking my arms trying to get that blank off, that was the plug I found too at least. TGV delete would explain that looking at where the plugs were. The fog light wiring is the only mystery left there then, just need to trace the wiring
