Before I got the Focus I had been planning on getting something old, diesel and high mileage as an every day car, and buying a mk1 golf project and fitting a 1.8 20v turbo engine to her, all was going well had priced a few golfs and was in the mood for buying until i priced up the engine conversion, nothing short of 5 grand!!!!! so thought fook that and bought something nice for the road instead...
she wuda been 1.8 turbo'd, racing green, slammed, bbs split rims, big bumpers, mint... oh well! lol
my new project will b a mk 1 golf goin to look at 1 this weekend hopefully. scrob to get an engine like that in would b cheaper the 5 grand u jst needa shop around.
Love the yellow and orange ones, not too fussed on the blue.
I had a notion like scrob too for a while, they're a cracker wee motor but the scene moves so fast that you'd need very deep pockets to keep a mk1 looking the part. Think scrob priced it with vw enterprises which is why the conversations so dear, would be alot cheaper just buying the fitting kit and sourcing your own lump. Go 16v tufy!
bob i would if i had the money for insurance im considerin once again sellin my mk 2 when i finish it and get a mk 1 a friend in england as a 1.8 8v at 190bhp i wouln`t mind aimin 4 sumthing like that as it would b alot easier to insure. the onrange one is sweet as
that orange mk1 is from Germany, the fella that owns KTech (Michael Koordt) is one of the most respected VW (and also rim polishers) in the world. I cant remember the web address but if you can find it and take a closer look at the car you will see its laden with custom fabricated carbon goodies, the whole interior has been smoothed and painted orange, including the underneath and almost every part, nut bolt and washer has been chromed. It is without doubt the most complete and insanely modified MK1 i have ever seen.
