WIth a very quick count here.

The full rally does 235 stage miles. BUT not every car does that full route. Thats just a totally mileage for all the different rallies running in the event.
They have a entry of 48 cars ? hardly a popular. Maybe very popular to go and watch!
At the most they are going to do is a max of 200 stage miles in the main class of the Roger clark event

It Happens ONCE A YEAR. Alot of business men can afford to take over a week off work for it ONCE A YEAR.
If every rally was to be like that in a c'ship there wouldn't anyone doing c'ships.

The RAC rally is a very nice experince to do ONCE a year.
As for the sprints you called them now, We do around 150 stage miles in 2days. Your popular RAC rally does 220 over 5-6days.

Now your are being very pathetic and grasping at straws.

Well my name is on the bottom of every post you fool. No problem with the slowness of your reply. To be expected really.
As everyone can see here by all you have posted you are stuck in the 80's and just because you put on a bib 3 times a year you think you think you are stg major. You're attitude stinks. No wonder you got abuse on the other forum that you left.

Everything you have said has been proved wrong with strong FACTS not random comments.

LOL! God bazza you are hilarious ^o). If rallying has gone so downhill (in your eyes), maybe its time to hoke out them old RPM video cassettes from the 70s/80s and crack open a can of 4 Star, instead of worring so much about rallying today (y).

I'm with John on this one. At least he knows the full logistics of competing in a full Irish Tarmac Championship (and doing pretty damnned well in it!).

Rallying, like other motorsports, is feeling the pinch financially at the minute and is currently trying to evolve to keep costs down. Or maybe you've haven't noticed Subaru and Suzuki's withdrawel from the WRC, Honda from F1 and Kawasaki from MotoGP all due to financial reasons? If the guys in the top flight are getting it tight how can we expect a few amateurs from Ireland to keep running the top-spec machinery off their own backs on every round?

As for Galway, the entry looks great and I for one will be there to enjoy the cars that are there and not worrying about the one's that aren't.

They dont run WRC cars on the Roger Albert Clark and its a one off event in the year. Is it a part of a championship afaik it isnt?

Its part of no c'ship. just a 1 off.

No point Alan, Patrick. Sure Last week galway wrc's was down 50% now today its the juniors are 50% down.
I might be right in saying everyone else who has the same views and able to look at the facts an figures are likely fools. As its common sense the majority of us have here but Barry boyle (bazza) knows best.
As bazza said Money has nothing to do with Irelands rallying entry lists getting smaller. Its all the MSI fault. They are to blame for all the manufacture's that alan mentioned above for pulling out of the Moto GP & WRC. Its to do with them making too much money selling the massive amounts of cars an bikes! Costs are the least part of it.
Take Donegal for example used to be four days rallying now reduced to a two and a half day sprint or the Circuit, used to be a full week of trekikng all over the country now reduced to a two day sprint. Most other rallies are the same, 3 stages per day repeated twice with central secvicing, that is MSI's doing and more of the reason why Irish rallying is dead on its feet

err.. and why where the number of days on rallys reduced? To reduce costs among other thing! which kinda sorta goes against your own arguement. Would you rather have short rallies, or no rallies?

And how can you say thats MSI's fault? Sure its the same worldwide. WRC events aren't near the same length, don't cover the same distance etc. MSI must have a wide reach....

I get truely sick and tired of reading about how MSI is to blame for everything on rally forums. Its such an easy thing for people to say, with no real thought behind it. Every Governing Body is gonna have problems, but to place the entire demise of irish rallying at their door is hardly fair.

What a pity for Eamon. retired on second stage today.
Was putting everyone in there place with his out right pace. I'm sure the be begrudger's who think he bought his c'ship will still have something to say about him:confounded:

He showed a fierce turn of pace on Saturday. Him and KPL caught and passed Rautenbach who had to run 3rd on the road to stop getting in their way. Then to cap a great weekend for Conrad, it seemed Eugene Ferry caught him and passed him in stage we were at today in a Mark II Escort.

Congratulations to Peader Hurson for a solid third place. Could have been second, but Gareth MacHale put on a big charge today. Hurson's car looks fantastic in the new livery.

Yeah we were looking forward to a good battle between Eamon and KPL today, but technical problems caused them both to retire. Well done to Eugene Donnelly for coming through to win and also Wesley Patterson, who secured victory in the National.
