temporary insurance

mate needs temp insurance on a car, he is fully insured on a corolla and cant just change over the policy for a day cause the company he with wont take him on for the new car, looking 24 hour insurance or a few days if its not much dearer

anyone know any places

He can only do it through his current policy or try it with the likes of a parent's/friend's policy?
