I'm hoping I get my car ready for JCC this weekend
But with it being in a million bits it's going to be very tight

I've seen black cars before that look wet an gives a real great shine

Anyone know what's the best polish/wax for a black car that makes it so fresh?

I had poor boys black hole then Collinite applied to my last black car when it got detailed and it looked fantastic, other than that I imagine a real good dark paint wax would do a good job

Is the bodywork perfected bar the gloss look you require or does it need a bit of masking of inperfections? Ie, could it really do with a buff but you havent time to get it done?

is it metallic?

Is it fast, easy to apply, super gloss you are after?

Having owned several black cars, ive tried many products

Bodywork is grand
Was polished using Poorboy's recently but it's the wetlook I'm after
Im not into the hole detailing part
Aube it's the wax gives the wet look?

wax or a good sealant can give the wet look.

ive found that 50cal pentawax is good value for money or as I mentioned the Petes 53 and then hybrid quick detailer to top up look up.

I'm sure Davy at procar has everything mentioned so far

If its already mint then autoglym UHD will be good, lasts long too! bring a good detail spray to give it a final wipe after you park up. the maguirs finishing cloths are a good job too. The glossiest stuff ive used to date is still the gold class maguirs stuff but it doesnt last long.

these 3 are all HD wax, Van was rough as can be, porsche was medium and bm is like a babys arse, but all came out pretty good. The van was faded pretty bad and i wasnt going to buff it, so i went over the whole thing with a clay cloth, then with Turtle wax colour magic, then with autoglym HD. You may laugh or scoff, but it works.

Tried black hole recently and it wasn't quite as good as I remembered. Finding Bilt Hammer Double Speed Wax to give a good shine. It's about £20 online and comes with an applicator and a buffing cloth.

I usually also spray a drop of demonshine / carplan high gloss wax / anachem ultragloss on when it's wet and dry the lot off.

Also finding the meguiars 'ceramic' wax pretty good too. Once you've done the first application it's properly easy. No messing. About £16 in Halfords.

Haven't put a buff near the car.

Naviwax leaves a fantastic wet look, it just doesn't last too long, but perfect for show prep.

Fireball Ultimate Carnuba spray wax is also fantastic, or Autobrite Project 64 spray gloss enhancer.

I did my mate's black RRS for his wedding with Project 64 and couldn't believe the shine off it!

99.9% of the finish is in the prep. Wax will add little to the final look.

Naviwax Ultimate or Soft99 King of Gloss would be my choice for what you're after.

Finish it off with Zaino Z6/Z8 for a real glossy look.

a softer wax will give a wetter shine and not last as long, some of the dodo juice waxes are good but for wet look, go for a ceramic wax or one with synthetic polymers added. Waxes with less carnuba as its brittle and has a higher melting point and will give a much harder longer lasting finish with less gloss.
