Down to personal preference. If I was going for a 996 turbo it would be manual black interior full Porsche or specialist history and sub 60k miles. I wouldn’t really worry about anything else, manual turbos with decent miles are so few on the ground at the minute.

As I suspected, basically what I aim to buy ideally

Everyone says Metropole kills resale, but I think it’s lovely, I think it works well with Arctic Silver cars.

But for Seal Grey, Polar Silver or Basalt Black, it has to be black leather.

Nothing kills a sale like that puke tobacco colour lol. I don’t mind metropole at all myself

Polar silver is smashing looking too.

I used to hate Polar, but I love it now.

In order of preference for me on a 996TT:

1) Arctic
2) Polar
3) Seal
4) Black

I viewed a polar car on a sunny day about 2 month ago and it just looked spectacular with aero kit

Thought this was stunning but the service history (for a one owner car as this price) really irritates me, some bits just don’t add up, my fav Porsche colour full stop.

80 large ones you’re in GT4 territory.

Horses for courses and all that. Both great cars, just do very different things. Whatever floats your boat 👌

It’s pretty much a brand new 997 turbo. When you consider an x3m is close to that it doesn’t seem too bad :joy:

Funny I was thinking that myself! Less to run, not as likely to ruin you and a lot newer! There is a stunning agate with pccb, carbon buckets, yellow highlights and 5k on it, looks superb! Only issue is 83k and I can’t spunk that on a car at the mo! :-(

It's not brand new though, it's still 13 years old. It's just been sitting in a garage not moving in those 13 years, with just an oil change every few years for servicing.

It will be a nice car for someone, just not convinced it's worth that much of a premium seeing as there will likely be old components about to give up from time and lack of use.

It's barely been run in even in those 13 years...

What will an x3m be worth in 10 years? £10k? Maybe. Manual 997 turbos start at £50k atm

As much as I like them that’s my fear with a low mileage older car!

If its the car I'm thinking of a customer of mine just bought it and gets it in a few weeks time.

Lol, what has it got to do with a BMW jeep?!
It’s a similar price. I’m trying to make the point that it isn’t that outrages when you consider an x3m is almost the same price but it will depreciate as fast as it accelerates lol

Thank god! Stopped me thinking of doing something reckless! Lol, it was on the mainland, has to be, only one of that spec and colour for sale at the moment!

Was the Classic show in the NEC, Birmingham earlier this month and there were some nice Porkers at it. Few examples below.

And this was interesting, a Speedster type replica based on a Boxster I believe. I love what they did with the interior.

Porsche Belfast are getting a GT4 in either last week or this week. Unsure of spec and sales guy didn't know any details when I asked either. Maybe even sold before it went on sale, not sure, but could be worth a look to see if it's the right spec.

Cheers gav, think I’ve possibly mentioned, I’ll be better placed March next year on to take the plunge (if I decide to) I just like looking at all the potentials, saying that I’m getting a wee bit over what I’d like to pay for a car!

I keep looking at stuff that is quite expensive (to me) and try to work out how much it will take to run, potential issues, if which some of the cars could easily hand you a bill of 10k, aginst possible deprecation.

Gt4 I feel is a good place to put 80k if I was Gona go for it, still young, first if their kind and still great residuals!

My heart is still with a 911, id say, in all honesty, if I could get a really nice low owner, manual, 4s 997.2 for around 45-50k I’d be well happy! Thing is I love the wide body but prefer the rear quarter panels to be filled in (as in no vents, which the tt has and does put my off somewhat, silly I know!) As said I still like looking at all the options but over 80k and Im getting nervous! Lol
