Thanks. The word "eclectic" has been used a few times, and it's very appropriate, lol. But they do have one thing in common - they make me smile πŸ™‚ That's all it is, just big smiles.

Looking pretty good, even in a random car park 🀩 When clean πŸ˜…

P1230788.JPG

Actually had something blonde in a Fiesta throw a big wave and a thumbs up out the window on the M6 last night, lol πŸ˜…

And the badges are straight, yay! Couldn't live with two mm out, once you've seen it that's it. Took her over to Ryan at the paint shop, sometimes a professional comes in handy :innocent: The "Volvo" badge had to be replaced, but the "motorsport" badge just needed a heat gun and a wee tweak. Thankfully, as that one on the car I bought last year as a spare and they are no longer available.

Been flat out enjoying the last days of freedom, garden leave rocks 😁 Amazing how busy you get when not working πŸ˜‡

Went on a roadtrip with Emma, the wee Volvo. A week in the civilised bit of Sweden down south. Then two days and 1000 miles up to the other nice bit in the far north, past the Arctic circle. Across from there to Narvik and Lofoten in Norway, and then just over a week down the length of Norway. It was ... quite epic! A few highlights below, more here:

Picked up a few bits in Cambridge coming back. Who needs a van 😁

Stuff in the boot (2).jpeg

Then took the road through Wales on the way to Liverpool. Because, well, why not πŸ˜‡

P1240459.JPG

A little worse for wear after all that, but nothing that won't wash off. Or bolt back on πŸ˜‡ πŸ™ˆ

Now, did you regret taking the volvo over the evo, type r or elise? lol :joy:
Should have thrown the others in the boot πŸ˜…

Perfect car for the job! Just such a lovely thing to spend time in.

EVO would have been impounded and me in jail inside five minutes of crossing the border to Norway 😁 πŸ™ˆ

Princess has actually been. Way back some years ago. Edit: 2010.

Popped down to the big Battle of Britain airshow at Duxford yesterday. Loads of Spitfires and such in the air all day, grand day out

Spitfires are all well and good but this is special!

Back to reality, first week in the new job. I hear making a good first impression is important πŸ˜… πŸ™ˆ

Have to say I prefer Cambridge. There's an office there too, heading there next week. London is a bit, well, London 🀫 She works just fine in there too though, most versatile car ever made. Just blends in quietly, nobody would ever know :innocent:

Honestly, I stopped looking and haven't built up enough courage to check the credit card bill! πŸ™ˆ It was eye-watering through Norway... And they have their own oil and make the stuff there! Beautiful place, but they are genuinely bat crazy πŸ˜… 🀫

Been a slightly strange weekend in light of obvious events, but good nevertheless.

Down in Dorset on Saturday with a trip to Purbeck and Lulworth.

P1240552.JPG

Then over to Goodwood for Sunday and the Revival - yes, it's that time of year  Few highlights here, will get more up on Flickr later.

The racing was a good as ever! The RAC TT never disappoints. This year, Newey's E-type was four seconds a lap quicker than anything else in the hands of Jenson Button in the first stint (echoes of F1 again πŸ˜… 🀫 ). But Newey Jr then lunched the gearbox coming out of the pits after the driver swap - whoops!

But the highlight was as ever St Mary's trophy with touring cars from the sixties, still driven like touring cars. Minis and Alfas and Cortinas swapping paint and grass with Galaxies and Plymouths. It's hilarious and genuinely the best racing you will ever see! I managed to get a ring side seat just at the last corner before the chicane, a tight and tricky double apex job where the smaller and nimbler cars get to have a go at the Galaxies. And it did not disappoint!

Just for @FM155 :innocent:

Hung on in Dorset for the Monday. Was woken up by someone deciding to get the strimmer out for an hour or so, lol. Roads were as busy as usual on a Sunday/Bank Holiday. But absolutely everything closed, so headed over to Stourhead for a walk in the wider grounds. It's a lovely place, beautiful English rolling green fields and woodland. And with the formal NT part closed it was nice and quiet. Watched the bit from the Abbey round midday out there, seemed fitting. Just because, well, it's kind of a big thing regardless of politics or views on monarchy or anything else.

It's still 165-170 at most places for standard unleaded in England πŸ™ˆ More at motorway services, as ever...

Wee Princess got a long overdue bath today, but then the rain rolled in so didn't get any pictures. Pretty much end of season now, just drying her out for storage. All good after the trip to England and Goodwood Revival, except she won't hold on to sixth gear for some reason. No idea what is going on there. Fingers crossed it's just the linkage that needs a wee tweak. All gears work absolutely fine, including sixth. She just spits sixth out again. Ah well, just another day in Lotus land πŸ˜…

I've got wee Red back out again now. I actually briefly toyed with the idea of letting her go, been parked up since April pretty much. But just driving back from storage and nope, she's going nowhere, lol. There is nothing like it, and there never will be another like it again. So I drove straight to the paint shop instead πŸ˜… πŸ™ˆ Re-trimmed steering wheel in too, absolutely love that. So much better if I may say so myself πŸ˜‡ Next away to Pete for a good polish and ceramic coating, and then off for a service. Induction kit also going in, new bushes for the rear beam thingy, and a couple of small Honda upgrades on the engine.

Back from Pete. I literally can't believe how well she turned out. Though I may be biased πŸ˜… I genuinely thought I might have to paint the doors/sides as well, they were so full of marks and swirls and the paint was dull. But came out perfect.

I really think the wheels make this car. But I may be biased πŸ˜‡ Everything else is as Mr Honda made it. No need to change a thing.

And it's in. On the car I wasn't going to do anything to πŸ˜‡πŸ˜…

20221029_131455.jpg

That's full induction kit all the way to the turbo. Makes some difference! A wise man said an exhaust is for everyone else to enjoy, induction is for the driver. Not just huffing and puffing, it completely changes the sound of the engine. Love it.

My highly calibrated butt dyno says she definitely revs freer and feels more eager.

Also got new poly bushes for the rear swing arms; installed the Honda "t-valve delete" kit from the FK8, and a new boost solenoid harness; and fresh oil and some general tlc. All set for another year.

She needs very little this one. Such a brilliant wee car πŸ₯°

Do that filter get a cold air feed ? In my experience with the s2000, they do not like open filters pulling in warm air. Maybe your beast is diff
