So with the Black Focus ST500-D needing a bit more work im currently driving a basic 1.6 petrol 5dr focus which is far from "me". that was only to be a tempoary car which as turned into just over a year of driving and now boring me to tears knowing i have 2 nice cars sitting in the garage not being drove.....so rather than throwing the money into the black focus and getting it ready sooner like a normal person.....especailly with doing near 100miles a day a diesel wouldnt be a bad thing........

......I buy a petrol hot hatch....:joy:

Perks of the workshop got a look around it before making the purchase.

2009, low miles and well looked after, spotless underneith, and fitted with lowering springs, and Alloys, and some intake, is all i know about it so far, and loving it all ive drove it. will get stuck into giving it a good clean before i start driving it.

Very little plans with it other than cleaning up and driving it. MPG so far is the same as the focus, insurance is nearly the same price to insure as the focus also, so pretty much winning.

Like the wheels on that, looks well. Test drove one of these before but it was far from clean.

Yeah the wheels drew me to the car, if it had standard wheels I'd probably not have looked twice at it. Needs a bit of paint work due to lacquer peel on the front but overall its in good shape, and will clean up well.

Nice keep considering these instead of using 3 series
Have to say I'm very impressed with it, though haven't drove it much, people say they can be harsh for daily driving, but so far it nothing worse than I'm used to on other cars.

Very nice! Did you buy this from Jonny?

Well it was traded into my work by a Jonathan, so likely the same one, I bought it before it went to out to trade.

Class James! I'll have to keep an eye out for you in this. Looks a lovely wee daily and way more fun than a boring 1.6 petrol Focus

Cheers, Yeah should be a nice change bit of fun too, only good thing about the focus it was cheap, and went from. A to B... Eventually 😂 driving the civic sensibly so far getting the same mpg, though drops quite quickly if you want it to, but atleast there's a bit of go as and when I need it.

I had one of these a few years back, fantastic daily. Still miss it. Think I averaged about 28/29 mpg when I had it

Cheers for the comments and likes everyone. So spent a bit of time cleaning the car yesterday.

Exterior got a full clean and decontamination. not that it was too bad to begin with.

49114942411_d479775047_c.jpg

Cleaned the engine bay up, and polished the Intake pipe up as was looking a bit dull, also the intake manifold had a bit of corrosion so cleaned that up as well. Few Rusty bolts/clamps/brackets here and there which i intend to down the line replace or clean up/paint them, which will really tidy the bay up some more.

Next job was to clean out the mouldy taillight seams.

Then gave the interior a deep clean again it wasnt bad to begin with but now its mint

Next job is to remove the wheels and clean them down and ceramic coat them, and then machine polish and coat the body as well.

Yeah so far for all ive driven it im very pleased with how it drives. and i do like the wheels myself, its one of the things that drew me to the car, if it was standard id probably not took a second glance at the cars.

So stuck at the car during the week, and got the car cleaned up and ready for the road.

Wheels decontaminated before being Cearmic coated

Got the car insured and taxed this evening so its out and ready for the road, took it home tonight and loving it so far, dare i say it more than the TT atm, though it could be the new car feeling doing that, or the fact i dont have to worry about it too much, ive too much money and time and effort into the TT it sort of kills it a bit.

So far no plans still other than the paintwork in the new year after winter, and drive it and enjoy it. Will try get some day time photos soon.

Thankfully Storm Dennis wasnt to bad on the trip, little rocky on the way home, a bit windy and a few showers here and there over the day, but nothing to mad, so still had a great day and plenty of fun.

Somehow have managed to just drive a car without spending any money on modificaitons :joy: Have been looking into modifications though atm keeping an eye out for a GP rear bumper or possibly mugen bumpers etc, which id be tempted to do before getting the bits i want painted fixed, though currently the TT is the main priority getting ready for this year, more its thread soon.

Currently i plan to keep it long term, really enjoying the car! and will be the daily up until the Black focus is ready again, and then ill use the focus as the work daily, and then keep this good and use it for nicer daily duties, or going some were i want a nice clean car, but dont want to bring the TT for worrying about parking etc.

That’s beautiful, especially with those wheels and ride height. Looks like you were in the right place at the right time

I drove my mates one when he bought it new in 2009. It had the most enjoyable gear change of any car I’ve ever driven. It was just the best gearshift, so precise and rewarding!

Good to see your still enjoying it still considering getting rid of Skoda and 6 series and going for one of these as useable daily toy

Yeah i caught my eye with the wheels and how it sat being lowered, just sat a nice height and looked the part, if the car had been standard wheels id likely not looked twice at it!, I had let a Focus ST go threw the net a while back that was also traded in, which i regret not buying, once i had a notion i was interested i put my name on it lol, and sofar not regreting it great thing to drive, even crusing down the motorway or giving it some round a B road.

I have to say they definatly tick the box as a usable daily toy, plenty of boot space, and when the rear seats folded down i was able to get 4 18" alloys in it flat across the floor. Though maybe an issue for some they are only 4 seats, but not really an issue for me as i very very rarely have passengers.

So scrolling threw ebay looking for possible parts for this, the TT or the Focus, i ended up watching a Mugen Carbon Gear knob, and last minute i threw in a bid and ended up winning for a total of £4.20 + postage. the OEM one was ok but was a bit chiped and wore but nothing major.

50027063767_b5b7926390_c.jpg

Im currently on the fence with it, its a bit bigger than oem, so having beeing used to the oem one its weird in the hand now, but at the price i paid its not a huge loss if i dont like it, but will leave it for a while and see what i think in a week or two.

Ive been wanting to get back into taking photos as a hobby again for a while, rather than the usual set the camera up in a ball park setting (no automode) and point and click changing minor settings, at shows etc. click.....next car click....next car click..... So upgraded my cameras and some more lenses, and today finally got round to getting the civic washed and the weather was dry and go out and take a few photos with my new set up.

Still loving dailying the car, did get a good rest over lockdown and settled the miles back down to average miles but starting to creap back up again now lol. I had planned for the car to get paint work by now, and daily the TT or the focus for a week or two while it was getting painted but thanks to the Covid19 its on hold. But am concidering a few body work things i might do when the time comes to get painted but will see what happens when that comes.
